The problem with SS is that Mark is a lolcow and if you follow everything he says you'll get fat and bloated, make sure to learn your movements first then hop on the program for a while and move on. SS by itself is good.
SS as a base program is good for like 80 year old women. If you are physically capable AT ALL, it is very little work and too heavily focused on the lower body, leading to disasters like in the OP. I think Mark secretly has a feeder fetish or some shit, it's the only explanation. However, if you take the principles of SS and add in some accessory work, train cardio or sport, and balance the volume better, it's actually pretty good for your average beginner. Greyskull LP is a good example of this, although you could easily just make your own SS ripoff like this:
Day 1: Squat 3x5, Bench 3x5, Row of your choice (you can do 3x5 but I like higher volume on rows, so maybe 3x10-15)
Day 2: OHP 3x5, Deadlift 3x5, Chinups/Pullups (3x5 works if you're gonna do weighted chinups with linear progression, otherwise training your pullups for reps will be just as good if not better for hypertrophy).
For each day plug in maybe 2 accessories, for example maybe an arm exercise and an abs or calves exercise. So add bicep curls and abs on day 1, and tricep extensions and calves on day 2. Or whatever you want, I'm just trying to give an example. One of my biggest issues with SS and other LPs is they meme muh 5s too much. 5s are good, but outside of your big compound lifts, higher reps are totally fine and it's moronic to suggest someone to do 5 rep dumbbell curls because muh fahvz. Although the other big issue with the SS crowd is that they claim all you need is compounds to look good. You can get a decent physique for sure, but frick man who doesn't want nice biceps?
Listen here, tubby. If you want to get aesthetic, hop on a bodybuilding routine. Leave "lifts" for the copeshitters here with shrivelled wieners due to unuse. If you want to moisten your dick and keep it that way, you do a BB routine.
>such as?
Not gonna spoonfeed you, lardo. Just do high volume workout with dumbbells, you don't even need to go to a gym. 15-20 reps, 3 sets, multiple types of excercises depending on the muscle.
Calisthenics and conditioning is what I usually recommend to people that are fat and want to lose weight because you will see improvement the leaner you get and it will fit into your original goal well.
It's moronic to go bench press when you cannot do 20 pushups, same with any exercise.
it works, and it's the fastest way to get you strong. It's so fast, most people find it hard to believe. You get a skinny twink on it, and in 3 months, they're among the stronger people in their life overall. Eventually, as a lifter becomes intermediate or advanced, the program stops working, and a more advanced slower program is needed.
Regarding looks, you're going to become strong on it, and you're going to look like a strong person looks.
Define "work". If by "work" you mean that gaining tons of fat from eating 24/7 and lifting heavy every day until your body fails then yes SS "works" wonderfully.
another Chad taken down by Mark "the Incelmaker" Rippetoe
you have to admire it
the worst part is that he literally didn't add an ounce of muscle on his upper body so even if he cut down he'd look the same
fricking grim
You don't lift. Post body.
Ok, real talk. Is SS a meme or does it work?
>.t sedentary fat wanting to lift
Rippetoe literally used the guy in OP's pic to prove that his program works so make of that what you will
yes it works. but dont stick to it for too long. do it till you no longer progress
do greyskull instead if you don't want to become a cow

Rip has made it clear that he doesn’t give a shit what you look like. He only cares about your lifts going up.

ok troony
Do 5/3/1 for Beginners.
5/3/1 is a powershitter routine based on hitting higher 1RMs. Only the accessories are really hypertrophy based.
Based.
I get the distinct impression that you don’t have a clue about 5/3/1.
