I've been stimming by walking 2-4 hours a day is that good enough? If running will actually help I could probably do that

If you're already walking you can try rucking, which is where you walk while carrying around weighs in a backpack. You can just take an existing backpack and fill it with rocks, about 30 lbs is a good start for beginners.

u have a distended belly cuz of gi issues not fat homie eat food. if u starve then go back to eating a bunch n repeat both ur physique and health will go to shit.

  5. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

    You can do it anon.
    > walking 2-4 hours a day is that good enough?
Is good, try to get a bit of running in too, burns more fat. Start by running half a mile and doing the rest of the walk (or sprint the last half mile), or alternate run half mile/ walk half mile.
If you don't lift any weights or do any upper body try to do some of that as well, should help bump up your Basal Metabolic Rate so you burn more calories at rest.

Anon if you're honest about 1 less bmi point putting you into underweight category and you still have love handles and round belly it means you are skinny fat and have basically nonexistent ab muscles. at this point to no ammount of starving will make them dissapear. You need to excercise if you want to lose them. Don't worry tho anon-kun, emi chan has your back.

You lose weight mostly through diet. If your weight has been stable for a while now, you can lose some of it with just few minor adjustments, if you've been gaining weight your first goal should be to just stop gaining and again, possible with just minor adjustments. it does require a minimal ammount of effort but you don't need to and frankly shouldnt go on a major crazy weightloss diet. As previous anon stated, running might be too hard on your knees, ankles and hips, but brisk walking should be perfectly alright and if you have time going for a long walks, especially in nature is great for both your healths. biking and swimming are both great low impact cardios, but you should do some resistance training as well to build some muscles and not end up weak and flubby. i dont know your situation but when i started excercising i was (still am tbh tho to a lesser degree) extremaly anxious of being seen and judged so id go extremaly late to a small outdoor gym in a park nearby (monkey bars etc), like 11pm-3am late, just to avoid human interaction. eventually i build up a courage to go earlier and earlier, occasionally even striking some useless small talk with randos. there is no great epilogue of me making it, im stil weak, no gf and a neet, but a lot of things can be worked on. you got it anon. you don't need much to start. i can answer few question but take it with a grain of salt, im not extremaly fit either.

I just wanted to add that swimming is great for high-rep low-weight resistance training. Water is about 800x the resistance of air, you absolutely do build muscle swimming. It more so builds dense type 1 muscle fibers rather than the big type 2 muscles for explosive strength that you get from lifting.

Another thing swimming is great for is well, swimming. One of the nicer things is to go for a swim in nature in some clear lake.

covid made me stop doing basically all my exercise so now I gotta lose the weight

lol, don't do this kind of shit. I starved and did sports 6 times a week after an emotional crisis. Went from 80kg (174cm) to 55kg within a year, messed up my hormonal system and lost a kidney due to this. But my love handles stayed; definitely not worth it.
Better go to the gym and eat in moderation.

        >Do a blood test
I did. I have no issues at all. My thyroid is fine and everything. I have zero problems.

        >Also, is your mineral and vitamin intake ok?
Yes. I have literally nothing wrong with me. However, I was REALLY fat as a child due to my parents overfeeding me, so my body and metabolism may just be permanently fricked. I lost heaps of weight a few years ago and now it's coming back despite my better efforts, and it feels like I can't beat it.

Are you actually measuring your calories or just guessing?

Actually measuring. Looking at packages and writing up a diary etc.

Anon, you're going to need to invest in an accurate measuring cup and a food scale, it's not possible to eat so little and not lose weight so you must be doing something wrong.

Exercise isn't the key to losing weight, you're not going to get far my starving, you're better off cutting calories and eating healthier.
If you feel the need to exercise.
If you're a man, lift, bigger muscles require more nutrients which burns more calories.
If you're a woman, do ab workouts and walk.

You utter baffoon, do not tell me you bought into the fasting meme. You just need to eat well into the noon and then fast for the rest of the day and that's it. You don't need to fast for days on end.
