Goggins is a stupid piece of shit. His joints ligaments and tenons are absolutely fricked. He won’t be able to walk in 5-10 years, he’s going to be limping because of his ridiculous masochistic mentality.

This guy has some serious fricking demons to punish his body like this.

Bruce Lee taps into a more spiritual realm than dumb homosexual goggins

Goggins looking like Kratos in this one, based
      Lee is based too
I wish you could be as mobile, flexible, fast and resistant while looking huge but we'll never see Phil Heath moving like Adesanya, sprinting like Bolt, lifting like Hafthor, running like Kipchoge and jumping like Jordan.

I fricking hate "spiritual" homosexuals. It is the same thing. It is literally the same fricking thing.

        >its the same thing

There is nothing more spiritual than your subjective assessment of pain, your mortality salience, and the risks you eager your willpower on. Breath and nerve science cannot account for this. A tough guy cannot explain to you why he is tough but he can inspire you his painless toughness in adversity. A weakling likewise can contagiously bog you down with his writhing pathetic annoyances to make your back hurt just by being around him.

Lee died because of an alergic reaction to a specific painkiller that ended up making a vein in his brain burst, supposedly. Theories are that he actually got poisoned.

there is a very plausible conspiracy theory, almost an open secret, that e got poisoned by the chinese mafia. most likely he made enemies by refusing to cooperate/pay them

The whole "be water" thing was about how you shouldn't have your body all tight and shit when you fight because it will make your strikes slow, less explosive and less concussive.
It's also something about not limiting yourself to any specific martial arts system and to learn from other disciplines to become a better fighter.

Noggins seems like a perma- sad and worried tryhard.
Bruce Lee was a master of his craft and enjoyed life.
Also Noggins got his body broken by renting it to the MIC. Definitely moron-tier. Bruce Lee trained super hard but didn't do stupid stuff (except drugs) and seemed happy.

Didn't read answers before giving my 2c but it seems we're on the same page anons

Bruce Lee's one inch punch and cinderblock smashing is a feat of diligence and intelligent precise practice.
Goggins endurance is a feat of awesome willpower. They have their merits but are distinctly incomparable for different applications for those of us choosing a fitness path.

The "be like water" thing has unironically helped me to be less of a c**t and more open to people and life over the last several years

I have less ego and am more introspective, and can admit certain things about myself to myself

Goggins is probably a decent guy but I have the feeling he'll end up killing himself like that guy who played the Green Power Ranger. He's probably getting to that point where it's all becoming a grift of sorts. Rage/anger has to be tempered with forgiveness. Strenuous physical work must be balanced with rest.

Pic unrelated, I just love roided blondes and try to see them in my mind's eye sometimes when I train

I don’t get the people who idolize Goggins. Talk to any of the Team Guys who worked with him back when he was Chief Goggins, talk to anyone in the community who actually interacted with the dude. He was a turd who liked to work out hard. The dude is severely mentally ill. Like sure, it’s not easy to run ultramarathons. It’s also not easy to hit yourself in the dick with a hammer for 36 hours straight. What he does is basically self harm, because his whole angle is that he pushes through his own lack of physical preparation for events he’s gone after by using his willingness to frick up his body.

If some guy who’d been lifting for two months managed to deadlift 405 but snapped his shit up horrifically in the process because he pushed through his dogshit form and physical warning signs, nobody would look at that and be like “Frick, he’s so fricking hard.” They’d say “lol what’s with that guy?” But throw a trident on his chest and all of a sudden he’s inspirational? Frick outta here.

This. Goggins is great to study and see human limits. Though I think goggins does this because that's his self worth at this point. if he doesn't kill himself he has nothing, he's just plain old David. Which is pretty sad to be honest

Forgot to add that he also does this almost involuntary, like he has no other choice. In his mind it probably is "take one break and it's over" as if resting will make his character fade away. His past and trauma took him and his ego to the bottom and to relieve from that he started doing his thing which in turn sky rocketed him to the other extreme but since it's not sustainable he must keep on the gas until he dies or body fails. Sad really, since after getting rich and famous he could have put all this effort into helping other people.

Goggins endurance being an overcompensation for the shit he went through is a sentiment that is so compelling so electric it has gravitas it has this pull because when we think of our own suffering our own buckling under pressure our own pain we can think of the persona that Goggins invented for himself to endure it heroically. Everything after Goggins weightloss and Marine Corps was a victory lap to break records for athletic insanity.

What does be like water mean?

      Anonymous

It means to be relaxed and fluid with your movements, but in doing so being able to respond and create force quickly and easily. It also means to be adaptable to match your situation. Bruce’s JKD has some pretty decent philosophy and if you lean more into the boxing/kickboxing influence some decent striking

Yes, but in a spiritual sense it also is about moving things effortlessly. Of course it takes skill and at the start its hard and rigid. But if youve picked up any instrument in your life, and gotten somewhat proficient at it, you realize what he means, when your hand starts to grasp any art, it feels almost effortless, like there's no weight to it, and is almost completely unconscious, and he just translated it into martial arts. In physical fitness you need to retain aspects of both philosophies, but "water" also splashes. Water, also crashes, and moves, but it doesnt stop being water. Its still you. You are still you. You are the same person who can accomplish your goals, but that does not mean you stop evolving.
