    Calisthenics is a meme.

Street lifting is what you should be doing

Dubs of truth. Go to the parks of NYC and Moscow and you'll see huge and muscular guys spamming pullups and dips like crazy with all sorts of variations. It's how you get legitimately big and strong with calesthenics

Are these guys 250 lbs??? Lean?? Do you see a homie like brock Lesnar or overemphasized doing calisthenics?

      Stop making fun of calisthenics

I will only stop when calisthenics stops being riddled with thirdies and general misinformation. It's for the greater good to make it unappealing so these people stop shitting things up for more serious practitioners. You're not going to look like an olympic gymnast unless you train like one and that does at various stages involve weights.

Stop being poor and just go to a gym doing calisthenics with proper material

The costs are about the same regardless because the biggest reoccurring cost in fitness is diet. In a sense you're wasting the most money doing just purely calisthenic because you're growing the slowest and least efficiently. Street lifting at least is more or less substituting the gym cost with cost of peds, and gym is less effective than peds+anything but it's the fastest of the natural approaches.

the average IST user is obese at 40% bf, what do you expect? they cope with their 4 pl8s deadlift because they'd literally die if they tried to do a single pull up. Grab a weighted vest, a pull-up bar, spam push ups, pull-ups and variations and you will look much better than anyone hitting the gym

actually nordic curls and sissy squats (i mean the tom platz ones, not the bullshit some roasties do that you will if you look rhis up), pair them with normal squat isometrics with varying levels of "upright" for varying levels of time. On nordic curls when you get strong you can do 3-1-0 tempos, standard bounces and dead starts from the bottom with no eccentric. I accredit most of my sttength in the deadlift to this exercise. If i was not injured right now i would do it, I can still do them for sets of 8 and 5s on dead stops with my left hammie at 70% strength but thats plainly worse than single leg curls at the gym at this specific time.

I actually got some strong glutes by doing bridges for very long isometrics, same with calves. I used to do a glute bridge isometric for 5 minutes every day after school along with stretching back in hs, that eventuailly turned into doing longer time periods until i was doing 50 minutes everyday. I wasnt using periodization but when i got in the gym i squatted 100kg *4 to depth for a couple of sets my first day in, its not anything incredible but still you can train glutes...to a certain extent.
Glutes and spinal erectors are the only thing that i feel you *need* the gym for after a point thats quickly reached.

Best back and biceps exercises are calisthenics (pull-ups and chin-ups)

I'm not against doing some bw exercises on top of lifting, but in general calisthenics as a training method is merely cope for autistsic dyels who are too intimidated by the idea of going to the gym

Powershitters are probably like 0.1% of gym goers. Calisthenicsgays are so pathetic they can only criticize the most moronic niche group of lifters since literally everyone else looks better than them kek

He's not that big. He's definitely fit and isn't lacking in muscle but it's mostly the leanness. When you're really lean your muscles "pop" more and you don't need to be as big to look really impressive. If you've ever been around dudes like that they always look unassuming until they take their shirt off and look mindblowing because they're like 5'10" and 160 pounds

That's just word salad. His shoulder width is what makes him look small even with giant delts he'd still look small because of those narrow shoulders. If he was any fatter he'd be the weirdest long neck fridge mode.

Minus the tattoos this dude unironically looks better and is more athletic than 99% of gymcels. Dude who only lift weights think they know everything about fitness until they are confronted with an activity that actually requires athleticism and then they realize their bodies are pretty useless.

have you ever heard of a moderately high level (regional placing) athlete dropping that actovity to powerlift?

I said dudes who only lift weights. If you’re an athlete who now lifts weights primarily I’m obviously not talking about you. I’m talking about the 99% of this board who has never done an athletic activity in their life but is now a fitness and health expert because they skip cardio and dirty bulk

when you are strong enough calisthenics is actually great because you can periodize instead of doing the hardest thing and hoping to progress.
