My bench has plateaued at 135 for 9 reps and I’m wondering if doing a ton of push-ups can help it. I’m a skinny fat dyel at 165lbs and can do 30 fist pushups in a row. Should I try to do 10-20 sets of pushups on days where I don’t train bench?
I’ve also considered weighted pushups because I have about 70lbs worth of miscellaneous weight plates. Any ideas whether either of these things would be helpful?
Also to note, when doing fist pushups I rotate my fist 90 degrees so it’s as if I’m benching the ground (try to use same benching form consistently)

coffee is bad for you

Do dips/weighted dips instead of push ups,and skip bench for 1-2 weeks
Your triceps are probably trash and that's why. You can't bench if you have shitty triceps. I mean you can but you won't get far and when you get a real plateau you'll just wreck your shoulders. Push will help a bit bit they'll probably not get you much further.
This. I had a really hard time with bench press because of shit triceps. My chest and shoulders were strong but would get buried at 150 pounds regularly. Focused on strengthening my triceps and my bench really improved.
Brehs. Contemplate the aroma
who is that
Try adding dips and/or DB bench for volume
cut out basedabeaners and drink more milk homosexual
steak and eggs should be your only meals
try changing rep range, pause reps, and eat a good meal prior to lifting. i doubt pushups will increase your bench by much, if at all
Eat more, add more weight, and yes pushups will improve your bench. Honestly, if you want to break your plateau focus on bench every time you train chest, do not focus on isolations and instead do more sets and volume on bench. Fastest way to improve.
You need to gain mass
Do a dedicated chest day, and a dedicated delt and triceps day
3-5 sets per exercise, get a good pump
Nah. Your programming probably sucks but then again your probably a novice since your asking about pushups so anything you do will help. When I wanted my bench to go up, I would train it at least 3 times per week.
>Should I try to do 10-20 sets of pushups on days where I don’t train bench?
no you need to gain weight. ignore every other reply itt
Don't coom for a week. Then watch some porn before you bench and while you're benching listen to audio of girls moaning or some shit.

Imagine being a woman
And look at this stunning display of absolutely mediocrity,
But the confidence to try and look appealing.
Absolutely mind blowing narcissism
Why aren't you upping the weight? If you can do 9 reps just up the weight until you can do only 5 or so and that's it
I do up the weight, I start my set with max reps of 135 then I up the weight by 10lbs every set until I can’t do 5 reps anymore, then I drop weight to 115 for the last set and do that to failure for more volume
>plateaued
>9 reps
Hey moron why not increase the weight and decrease the reps
Sauce?!
>imagine benching in 2022 lmao
