        Terrible idea.

The product he’s buying is sweet or sour whey, depending on where it came from. It’s a liquid byproduct of cheese production. It’s a liquid, the same as the liquid you find at the top of yogurt. It is not a powder, and it’s certainly not whey protein isolate.

And it’s not protein dense at all. It’s about 0.8% protein (that varies depending on the type of whey but not by much) and over 90% water. Let’s put it in perspective.

        >An 8 ounce glass of milk combined with a typical scoop of whey protein isolate is roughly 30g of protein.

        >An 8oz glass of whey will have roughly 6g of protein (slightly less than a glass of milk).

To reiterate: whey, the byproduct of cheese production, is a semi-transparent liquid, mostly water, that contains a marginal amount of protein. Whey protein isolate, the powder that comes in a big jug from GNC and is ubiquitous among gym goers, is much more protein dense. They are not the same thing.

I actually got curious, if you buy directly from the manufacturer and not from a middleman or brand it's somewhere on the order of 4$/kg, some of them even let you design your own logo/design for the wrapper kek

How long do I have before whey goes "bad" (e.g., loses effectiveness) after I mix it in liquid? Sometimes I like to mix two scoops in with a lot of milk and I'll spend a couple hours finishing it. I would assume it wouldn't go bad under normal circumstances but I was curious if the amino acids became less effective and shit over time or if it's best to down it sooner rather than later.

pro-bodybuilders will literally spend $800 per week on steak and fish and hours cooking and cleaning instead of drinking protein shakes that they get for free. no athletes or bodybuilders drink this garbage even though they all get it for free. they just eat food. there is a reason for this. because it is junk. It's loaded with contaminants and much of it passes into your gut undigested because it is not real food. you are paying money to fart. that's it. just buy real food and stop being a moron.
