        I'm going through some shit right now and it basically acts as a natural appetite suppressant. If I try to fast I either get somewhat hungry or acid reflux makes me feel like shit.

        I found fasting was a great way to kick my carbs/sugar habit though. Also exerting that level of control over your body feels based as fuck. Longest fast I've done was 60 hours.

          I spent some time in county jail a while back and caught some crazy super-flu, I couldn't keep anything down for almost 12 days. When I got processed in they weighed me at 202lb, I got taken to medical because apparently I was so passed out the guards couldn't wake me up for the count (Counting inmates to make sure no one has escaped) and they weighed me in at 174 less than three weeks after I processed in. I didn't even know it was possible to lose weight that fast. I got really depressed in there for a while and started stress eating and gained a lot of that weight back, I was 192lb when I was released two months later. I've been trying to do the whole intermittent fasting and working out more the past six months but I've only managed to drop 15lb. goal is 150lb by the end of summer.

        This is true. HOWEVER. Fasting is different for me and a lot of other fatties for one huge reason that doesn't have to do with the other stuff like autophagy. It's how fucking quick you lose weight when you do it. If you're 100+ lbs overweight and you follow a conservative method of losing weight that they teach going 0.5 lbs per week, it will take you 200 weeks to lose that 100 lbs, or ~3.85 years. For a fatass, that is so demoralizing and soul crushing. You put on weight pretty quick and easy and now it's going to take years to get it off.

        Fuck all that noise. If I knew that the eat less exercise more thing was the only option, I would never ever do any of that shit. Fasting is such a powerful tool that fatties will actually give it a shot and do it since they lose weight so quick. It's not so bad to do fasting when you'll lose 100 lbs in a few months vs several years. If you ever start gaining weight back, fuck it what's another few days of fasting? It takes no effort and gives you more energy than you had before.

        It's a lot easier to form lifelong habits when the scales aren't so heavily in favor of the side of gaining weight. When it is just as easy to lose as it is to gain, that means I can lose all my f fat and maintain a healthy weight for the rest of my life with relative ease.

            Do you exercise aswell? Im trying to get an esstimate on how much i can loose by fasting 5 days a week with a bit of cycling, general field work and a lot of walking.

            No exercise, will add exercise later when I'm thinner. Here is a daily weight chart though. Over the course of about a month. Started at around 1.5 lbs per day after water weight. I fasted starting on May 1st, but didnt officially record a weight until May 6th, so I used that as my official starting date. From the 1st to the 6th I estimate I lost probably about 15 lbs of water weight.

            So starting on May 6th, I lost about 1.5 lbs per day for 2 weeks. Since then I have lost about 0.8 lbs per day. I'm imagining it will continue to drop

            I used to cope with alcohol because I worked a factory job that was robbing me of my sanity. Quit that to work at a restaurant. Was much better for a couple of months, then I returned to alcohol because that place also robbed me of my sanity. I got free pizza too. Shit wages combined with free goyslop combined with existential dread and alcohol will make you gain weight really quick. I gained like 100 lbs between those two jobs. Quit and now I don't drink or eat garbage. I will never ever sacrifice my health for a menial paycheck ever again.

            I'll lift when I get a bit leaner. Moving and doing stuff when you are a fat fuck takes a lot of energy. My fucking gut still makes my abs ache if I stand too long.               yeah I also put back a good amount of weight because of a shit gig where I coped with booze, smokes and donuts
              I kept it to 1-2 tallboys a day max and the job was fairly active (paralegal, had to commute several times a day and climb a fuckton of stairs)
              still, it took me 2 years to regain 22 lbs

              it's actually really hard going over a 200-300 surplus when eating non-slop homemade meals and your body will actually kind of fight against it

                That's it man. I was drinking 1-2, six packs of the nastiest alcohol ever imaginable simply because it was cheap. That's 6-12 pints per day. Sometimes I would add 1-2 four lokos on top of that. I started drinking them at work all the time. I was drinking at least 3500 calories per day every single day. I was also eating probably another 3000 calories worth of pizza or more. Daily intake probably ranged from 6500 - 9000 per day. I put on weight quick man. All because I wanted a paycheck and I was willing to sell my sanity (alcohol) and health (free food) for it. Never again. I think I'd rather be homeless than work a job I hate.

                Worst it got from me was drinking a tallboy with lunch and the odd shot of gin here and there. I rationalized it as "muh don draper", "muh ancestors were hammered 24/7", "booze is like, a natural anxiolytic, it mellows you out maan", etc.

                I've always hated doing sports and shit but now that I'm in my 30s my body is falling apart. Even if I wanted to stay home playing vidya all day my body can't withstand it anymore. I really regret not moving my arse around when it wasn't as bad.

              I was 286 lbs at my worst (6'2") and never had problems like this. Even went on trail biking, swimming and kayaking on vacation. Kayaking obliterated my core and back though.

    I tried really hard, but unless you're high willpower you will fail, and if your willpower is so great you wouldn't be fat in the first place.       This is true. For me, I've tried everything, but there's not really anything I stick to. Every time I've tried something I just neglect it after a while. Usually it's because I get so overwhelmed by work and other shit that any amount of effort put in to try to maintain a healthy lifestyle is just too much. I always end up sinking back into alcoholism to cope and just get fat as fuck. Every year this happens. Now, I can lose weight faster than I gain it with fasting. It's fucking amazing. Planning on doing carnivore + adding fasting days to never get fat again. I hate it so much.

      There's no effort with fasting, I guess that's what makes it so easy. Just mix the goddamned salts once a day and you're there. No meal prep or any bs. Can't wait to get lean and then start eating again. My roommate cooked ground beef with nothing else in it the other day and it smelled like food of the gods.

      I've never been fat, but I fast when I want to lose weight. I find traditional cuts tedious, and just not eating for a couple days is much more gratifying to me. I get to just eat whatever I want 99% of the year and then fast for a couple days a couple times a year. No bullshit calorie counting, no cutting and trying to somehow keep protein intake really high while keeping calories low, etc

      Yes, you're not gonna lose muscle from not eating for a day, even if you did it would be an extremely insignificant amount.
      As for losing fat, depends how frequently you do these fast. If its too often you might start losing muscle especially if u aren't eating enough protein.
      I'd say just go to the gym and eat in a caloric deficit. Your metabolism will be much higher this way.

    Fasting to me as a lard ass has worked wonders, and flipped my bodies perception in regards to the true nature of what hunger really means.
    Whereas without fasting the root cause of my gluttony was never really addressed, and just remained as a vulture in the background waiting to swoop down once whatever fad had worn out it's welcome.
    Fasting with salts on the other hand, just rugby tackles the mental disorder of glutinous over eating at its core head on and takes no prisoners.
    The body damm well knows when it's truly hungry, and let tell you it can go multiple days at hand and dip into its fat reserves before true hunger comes into play.
    Hence the next time I feel like snacking during and after meals, I now have the mental strength backed up by my own evidence to believe such urges are a complete falsehood of my own manifestion of sin.

                On the other hand, there is plenty of reason to believe that food companies and pharma companies would have anti-fasting shills out there trying to downplay the benefits of fasting because it directly cuts into their profits. Goyslop producers don't like people switching to whole food diets, food companies in general don't like people eating less, and pharma companies don't like people healing their bodies without drugs.

                Fasting is amazing and everyone should do it to some extent even if they don't need to lose weight. It has a lot of healing benefits completely unrelated to weight loss. But for people who need to lose weight especially, fasting is a fucking godsend in terms of simplicity and effectiveness.

                However, if someone tries to SELL you information on fasting, or SELL you a fasting program, or SELL you some fasting product, then they are SCAMMING you.

    Are there any pre-made fasting salts or snake juice mixes that are worth it? I hate measuring shit out, even when I cook I do everything by handfuls or shakes, go by smell and taste over measurements. I can forsee myself breaking down and grabbing a snack rather than taking out 10 little bags of powders and having to mix it all exactly right, especially if I'm busy with work.
