See I would call those "cracklins" not "pork rinds" because they still have the fat attached to them.

I recently have, since I saw them at the supermarket. One bag has 35g of protein for $2. Pretty good value.

You can buy oven-baked pork rinds.

        Incomplete protein. Irrelevant.

It's not irrelevan if you get the minimum of each EAA. Getting more inessential AAs means you don't have to convert the essential ones so it's still a benefit.
If it's a choice between biltong and rinds, go for biltong. Between rinds and chips, rinds are clearly better.

These are fried yes? I would expect them to be fried in their own fat but since it's 2023 clown world they are likley fried in Sneed oils. Best bet is to make them on your own, the butcher probably has to spare since moderns fear the good parts.

They're fried in pork lard. I've visited the factory that makes that particular brand.

OP, you're half right. Pork rinds taste great and have no carbs. You're wrong about the protein though. What they have is collagen. While it's not helpful for building muscles, it's GREAT for your skin and joints.

Get enough collagen in you regularly and you'll slow aging big time. Frick whatever that weird alien-looking vegan was doing. Anybody could youthmog him by downing a medium-sized bag (meaning 1/3 the size of the ones at Walmart, fellow Burgers) of pork rinds a day, on top of otherwise being healthy.

is there a better way to get collagen?

Not sure about better, but eggs are a good one (I believe they're in the egg white rather than the yolk if you're deadset on dropping calories). Fish, oddly enough söy of all things. I can pretty easily deduce that pork has some.

Although when I cook with any of those things except pork I can't make it taste as good as pork rinds so...kinda stuck with that on my end. I buy picrel and enjoy it well enough. Though I need to drink water with them since I don't do well with spicy food despite liking it.

i think it is in skin, usually so chicken skin and also you can get it from bone broth

Salt & Vinegar with some apple cider
Vinegar added to the bag is the best.

I'll sometimes buy some skins from a local bbq joint and throw those b***hes in the oven. They puff up nice and my dogs go apeshit over them like no other.

your body doesn't process the protein in rinds properly, if at all. You're basically just eating salt and fat with those. If you want collagen then you need to get it broken down into smaller 'pieces' your body can actually process, like peptide collagen or hydrolized

I live near the border of Germany and we have lots of different flavours in the local German markets.

I have tried pork rinds etc, its like trying to eat rocks ffs. Im sure there is good stuff in them but they are far too hard to eat to bother with it.

Unfortunately the protein quality is low.

It's the equivalent of eating finger nails. No harm in snacking on them I guess but yeah
