      >training calves
It's literally 100% genetics. A picture that shows before/after pic of massive calf gains in an adult doesn't exist. Prove me wrong.

up to a certain extent yes, but you can train them to the point of making them look non dyel, sure you won't be getting bb tier calves but you can still work them hard to make them in proportion to everything else

which is why 99% of preacher curl setups have twizzler bar. you can still get nasty tendonitis from slamming the weight back down but tears are a meme for natties

How much do you need to curl like this to tear a bicep? I was never huge but I could curl 50 pounds per arm so I’m guessing I could have done around 100 like this. wasn’t a body builder or anything though.

With proper form on preacher curl (full extension) and a large enough ego, you can snap your shit on these with a surprisingly low weight, like 15-25lbs on each side of the EZ bar. I've seen it happen most often when dudes try work this exercise into arm day supersets or use the preacher rack for doing 21s. They end up fatigued by their final sets, go full extension while doing bounce reps with zero control of the weight, and then the magic happens.

hammer curls makes my elbows click when extending

do reverse curls, or warm up the elbow more.

This is why I only do hammer curls on them

everyone egolifts on this for whatever reason
they put the seat too high so they can cheat with their shoulders more
defeats the whole fricking purpose of the exercise
cheat curls have their place but if you're gonna do them, just do the standard standing bb curls where there's not much risk of injury

Bros, I put a 25lb plate under the back part of the machine, to basically lift it two inches & slightly lessen the angle of the upper arm pad. Feels good! I think most preacher benches are too extreme with the angle of the upper arm pad, frankly.
I also use an EZ bar but honestly I think that's redundant to say because I have never seen somebody use a straight bar IRL on these, EZ bar is the norm.
