Mine is around 70 to 80 and I suspect its because I spent my like 10 years gaming and doing basically nothing until I was done college.
I wish I knew how to lower it. I've heard cardio is good but I haven't seen any results so far.

I am thinking of getting into endurance cycling but I honestly don't think it's an issue I can easily fix, and it will probably lead to an early death for me

Well, if anything, it's worth trying. If you're overweight definitely work on that though. I'm a normal weight for my height and it still plagues me which I'm certain is because of lifestyle.
All we can do is work on ourselves, don't give up.

meant to reply to you - I am pretty thin
I am sedentary but I think my bpm is mostly just due to me being really nervous and skittish

you can be thin and still have high blood pressure if you don't do any cardio. Don't neglect the most important muscle of them all

I'm very very thin and I do a lot of cardio and still had high BP. I took action and in like 2 days my BP dropped 20 points and was even below normal. You just have to be willing to actually make changes

Most of your cardio workout should be zone 2 (easy footing for example) for 1hour-90minutes with the rest being HIIT

Are you overweight? You should really get your BP checked asap

        >You should really get your BP checked asap
OP here, I am not joking when i say my resting heart rate is around that high every time I check

do you think i should talk to a doctor about it? or is just exercising basically all i need to do

I was in a similar situation as you, I did cardio at a moderate intensity for 2 weeks and my rest heart rate is at 50-60 now. I'm 25 and overweight for reference

I have not done that many drugs in my life

have you guys ever heard how, across the animal kingdom, almost every mammal has around 1 million total beats of their heart in a lifespan?

elephants, mice, humans, we all have hearts that beat around 1 million times.

You can fix it anon. I’m 25 and my resting heart rate was always in the 80s. Took up running in February and for the last week it’s been 58 on average. Still going down as well.

Yeah I have a pair of ultraboosts. You can get cheaper though, it doesn’t matter much if you’re just starting out

Only time I've had a high resting heart rate was in the doctor's office with a painful injury.

I do a ton of cardio and my resting heartrate is about 80 as well. Seen a cardiologist about it. He checked out my heart and said it's fine and I shouldn't worry.

    So yeah, whatever.
