Never I incline bench more than I flat bench but squats and deads are awesome and enjoyable lifts sounds like you're too scared of them to make progress
I flat bench more than I squat

Never because they're memes and zoomers obey memes.
I did all 3 in my 20s and do none in my 30s.
I did deadlifts yesterday and I have to admit I sometimes wonder if it’s a higher risk:low reward lift. If your goal is to build muscle and look better not simply lift more does the deadlift make sense?
there is no dispute that it's a strength lift. Some body builders do it but all powershitters do it. I recommend you do it purely because nothing else hits my grip, forearms and frankly core harder. I have tried with and without. My conclusion was frick chasing numbers. I don't care to wreck my body for doing a pretty reddity ego lift. But just go a little lighter and it's a great exercise. The second nail in the coffin for me is the fatigue. Not worth it really imo
I’ve only been lifting for a year and I’m weak af but once I hit 300 lbs and had back pain for a bit (my fault, poor form) I backed off and now I just sort of progress to 300 lbs and then go lighter with more reps and move up to 300 and repeat.
I am in my 30s and have very little interest in ego lifting. I just want to be healthier and look better not damage myself for numbers.
Checked.
Also, anyone got advice on moving past plateaus where you just keep maintaining a weight or even regressing? I'm having a hard time progressing my squat. I can do 2pl8 atg (I refuse to do anything less than atg), but I find myself using weights within the 185 to 205 range the most. I really just want to get to 3pl8 and just work on my form and add weight as I see fit
I literally only use kettle bells
You don't have to do anything that you don't want to, anon.
you don't need them to make gains but they're good lifts and fun because you get to move a lot of weight
if strength figures into your goals you should absolutely be doing them imo, if not then you can get away with leaving them out entirely if you really want to
1/2/3/4 is the only reason to live
>Squats
are good, they’re literally just weighted calisthenics and the full squats position is a natural human sitting position so it makes sense to train these. But front squats make more kinesiological sense than back squats; heavy back squats are just an ego lift
>deadlift
Completely fricking useless ego lift. There’s a reason actual athletes don’t do deadlifts.
>bench press
Probably overrated but idgaf
Dumbells and calisthenics are better than barbells 100% of the time and some good hill sprints are better for your legs than any squat, but powerlifting is easier and doesn’t require you to stay in shape so people flock to it in droves

Oh shit, he's going all in!
>There’s a reason actual athletes don’t do deadlifts
Many athletes deadlift, just not always conventional. You are not an athlete, don't pretend you have any clue, skinnyfat
>Dumbells and calisthenics are better than barbells 100% of the time and some good hill sprints are better for your legs than any squat
Oh lawd, this boy is truly moronic
>but powerlifting is easier and doesn’t require you to stay in shape
So, why haven't you dominated in powerlifting if it's easier? And, let me phrase this question - if you don't have to stay in shape, why does powerlifting have a shit-ton of weight classes if everyone can just get fat and not care?
Anon, you have failed on every conceivable level. You still think a leg pump from hill sprints equates to gains and progress, so you're incurably stupid. But, you do you.
When they stop giving gains
Post lifts
I have a hard time training hamstrings at home. Deadlift moves feel like pulling the muscle, not working it. What do homegym bros do for hamstrings?
Then don't do them, you scrawny homosexual, I don't like having to wait on twinks to vacate the squat rack or the deadlift platform, so stay the frick in the machine area where you belong and be a perpetual skinnyfat forever. It is your destiny.
