I'm so happy my autism never allowed me to drink coffee. I'm almost entirely caffeine free since birth. Never had a coffee, only had about 10-20 cokes in my life. Eat chocolate less than once a year, not even at Easter. Never drank tea. Never drank energy drinks.

Sometimes I get tempted to take a preworkout just to see how fricking wild it could make me to go from zero to 300mg in a single dose.

She eats chocolate, but it's milk choco and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have enough caffeine to build any kind of tolerance.

IMO if you go long enough without using a drug you regain a degree of naivety to it, if not 100%. You're telling me a cup of watered-down nespresso will irreversibly alter your neurobiology, and 18 years later if it comes into contact with that molecule it won't act as if it was truly naive?

One cup a day, 100 mg, is enough to maintain physical dependency.

Smoking casually is what kept you from addiction. The amount of nicotine per cigarette is tuned to keep you huffing constantly for your fix, you need 5-6 a day to sustain addiction. Big Smoke prefers you on a pack a day.

People seriously underestimate the power of caffeine since everybody in the modern world is wired to some degree 24/7. IMO it's on par with cocaine or any other "hard" stim.
If we were as habituated to cocaine as we're to caffeine (bolt liters of cocaine tea and OG coke every day, ate cocaine-infused choco, chew coca leaves like gum, etc.) nobody would be doing gack recreationally.

I've went through lowkey stim psychosis/mania and a borderline panic attack (cold sweats, felt a creeping sense of total doom, as if the sky was going to turn black at any moment and eat us all) from too much coffee.

I don't relate to nor understand most of the posts of this thread. I don't see how coffee can be addictive or have such an impact on your life.
I have never felt the effect of caffeine, drinking coffee doesn't make me feel more awake or anxious, the only thing that coffee does to me is moving my bowels sometimes.
I only drink coffee for pleasure, I like the taste and the aroma, I drink it with no sugar and with little milk. During the week I drink one cup of coffee after work if I finish early, during the weekend I drink one cup with my breakfast.

      Anonymous

It might depend on how the coffee was made and what type it is. I generally only drink pour-over coffee I made myself, no sugar or cream, and basically have the experience as you. But, I got a mocha at Costco once and after drinking it on the way home it felt like I had 2 shots of adrenaline pumped straight into my veins, high heart rate and couldn't sit still for hours.

For those addicted to coffee, how much sugar/cream/other shit are you putting into it? Do you make it yourself?

also noticed my mood is better. Caffeine offers me temporary peaks (which I love) but the tail end leaves me irritated. I feel tired and not like doing anything. When pushed to do things I'd just be mentally angry.

Without caffeine I feel no valleys, just feel the same all day which feels better.

Also noticed my sleep is better, waking up feels easier. Instead of waking up and craving a peak, I feel much more like I did before I went to bed, and feel much more like taking action on things and less like im 'dragging'.
