Hell no. Try it. Just try living without ANY coffee for two weeks. The headaches and drowsiness are unreal.

For how long do you stop drinking it? I don't get headaches until the third or fourth day.

            Anonymous

I’ve done it multiple times, for as long as months. I don’t get headaches, I just don’t really get the benefits either. Maybe sleep a little better but even then it’s just not the same as a cup of coffee or preworkout before going to the gym. Feel like once you get adapted to coffee there’s not really any benefit to stopping

It's an enzyme or something that breaks down caffeine, a lot of people don't have it so they experience the same symptoms (or lack thereof) you're describing

Frederick Douglas, a freed slave and genius, wrote about how slave owners used alcohol as a tool of social control on plantations.

No matter how badly the slaves were treated, as long as the slave owner gave them plenty of booze for the weekend, they would forget their troubles and be back to it on Monday.

It was when Douglas quit drinking alcohol that he became self-aware, self-educated, and made his great escape to New York City disguised as a sailor.

Historians posit that the Enlightenment, when Europeans left the dark age for an age of reason and scientific thought, was caused in large part by people adopting boiled coffee instead of relying on booze as the only substitute for undrinkable water.

      >Is coffee good for you?

In limited amounts, yes. The medical guideline is 400mg or about 4 cups of coffee, or 8 cups of tea, per day.

In excess, caffeine addiction can cause stress, insomnia, heart issues. However, in moderation, coffee is proven to improve neural pathways in the brain. In other words, coffee improves neural connectivity and makes you smarter when used in moderation.

Reportedly, the sections of the brain concerned with vision, working memory, cognitive control, goal-directed behavior.

It's a long story but coffee is a major contributing factor to our modern problems. From failed enlightenment values, to widespread anxiety and stress from GABA depletion and adrenal fatigue. Forget the consequences of sleep deprivation masked by this drug. Coffee is one of the world's most powerful stimulants. Imagine western offices offering coca drinks for workers to cover up their self destructive lifestyle so they can work more for the boss to make money. What's the big difference? There isn't one.

Life is depressing in the west because problems are not being solved, but masked by this drug. In many instances, this drug is the very cause. This is what addiction looks like. It's just a socially acceptable one.

Tired? Instead of fixing sleep, just drink coffee. Couldn't sleep at all? Don't take a day for your health, just drink coffee. Developed insomnia? Great! You can work more! Have a cup of coffee. Burnt out? Don't worry, here's some fresh hot dopamine! Just keep grinding yo. Anxious from all that coffee depleting your GABA? No problem! Let's just put 12.6% of the population on Xanax and charge them up the ass for it. Cant pay for it? Dont worry, drink coffee work more. Working at max capacity? Let's push you further just for funsies.

Has your life fallen by the wayside because of this addiction? Starting to develop chemically induced depression from dopamine disregulation and GABA depletion? Eyyy here's some SSRIs that don't work. Have a cup of coffee. Is everyone around you on this drug literally all the fundamentally altering the culture of your civilization for the worse? Sounds like you need a cuppa joe, Joe.

              >withdrawal is the only negative consequence from drugs
Withdrawals from caffeine likely won't kill you like alcohol or benzos or GABAergics in general. You likely have substantial withdrawal symptoms but don't recognize them because you're probably not even aware of what caffeine withdrawal does to the body. That's not something taught in school.

            Lol, not sure if serious

In business, there's a problem of leverage. One business borrows money to make more aggressive projects or expansion. This causes a game theory problem where every business now has to go into debt just to keep up with its peers, or risk being outcompeted. You end up with a business environment where every business is leveraged hard and all in debt. This is unhealthy and risky, but everyone is doing it so you don't have much of a choice.

The same principle applies in universities, where in certain competitive majors (such as law) students will consume amphetamines to gain a competitive edge. This causes other students to take amphetamines just trying to keep up and now you have an entire corpus of people engaging in this unhealthy behavior for no good reason. Same thing with bodybuilding competition and steroids.

Coffee is so socially acceptable it is expected you partake. The risks are downplayed, benefits exaggerated, and it goes from an occasional tool to a culture of drug use and/or addiction. Its immediate health and societal impacts are not readily apparent so they are ignored or the connection not made. The question next is qui Bono from a culture of coffee addicts?

Coffee depletes GABA. GABA is hard to measure because blood levels are not indicative of brain levels so its not exactly a common test.

Do you know what 4 things are strongly linked to GABA disorders?
              Autism
              Depression
              Anxiety
              Schizophrenia

How is poison not poison? Your body immediately raises blood viscosity, HR, increases urine production, sweat, etc. to get rid of it.

It's a drug. It's a useful drug. Hence it is a tool. It kills small insects by making their insides explode. In small amounts it helps humans adapt to stress, think faster, and increases physical performance. This comes at a cost like anything else. The benefits outweigh the costs, in the short term and for temporary use. Same with alcohol, it stimulates GABA. Calms you down, helps you get along with your tribe, in small amounts. Too much and you pay a price. Create a culture around it and you end up with second and third degree consequences. People get into fights for no reason. People drive intoxicated and get others killed. People get taken advantage of at parties. People become vulnerable to other offenses. Same with coffee, only with different ripple effects such as higher societal anxiety, or a strong focus on hyperproductivity for no reason.

                Anonymous

No amount is good, same as alcohol. Your body functions optimally without it - there is zero optimization afforded by consuming Crappeine.

                Anonymous

The body is far from optimal. Again, drug provide you with certain effects which you may want. Berserkers would consume amanita mushrooms and slaughter their enemies. I'm sure their enemies bodies were all functioning """optimally""" without those mushrooms. They still lost. And now they're dead. Protip: those vikings eventually died too. Just like we all do

    >me 30 years old
    >have never drank coffee or energy drinks in my life
    >rarely drink soda maybe a few times a year
    >rarely drink alcohol either
    >take no medications besides ibuprofen

    >end up a completely worthless pathetic autistic friendless kissless virgin loser with no career living with my parents wanting to kill myself every waking moment

Sometimes I wonder if I drank coffee if it would have given me energy and led me to having a successful life. Probably not
