Pull ups should be slow and with minimal swinging, that or they're useless. I built my pull ups to 5x8 at 85kg and they didnt do nothing for me. The technique wasnt terrible but even a little bit of swinging or just changing your legs position can make the difference. On the otherside, doing jackknifes and adding 30 pounds was the sweet spot for me. My back also seems to respond better to higher volumes instead of high intensities and low volume. I still dont understand why that is. And for the people asking to post my body I've only been doing it for a month, I do notice some muscle gain but were I to post my body you'd all say there's no difference because it's not a lot so frick off.
It improved my grip strength, my callouses and my bw pull ups became much stricter and easier to do. I can pull sets of 8 quite consistently now.
Mind you, I've been stuck doing bw pull ups for 2 years, so I can say for sure just keeping the intensity high wasnt enough.
I always start 1x8 and 2x6 with bw and then just do 8-12x8

I built my best back with pull ups till failure using two different grip variations (subinated and pronated with semi wide grip) first unweighted then weighted. However I very much appreciate you posting this. I am eager to try it out. Thanks for sharing.
Your response to volume is genetic but volume in general gives better results in the recreational lifter framework as he usually does neither much volume nor intensity so doing serious volume suddenly gives sudden serious results

this is my gym, I use the handles but I wish they would just get a couple of wall-mounted pull up bars. there is one outdoor pull up bar near me, but it isn't very high, so I can't do hollow body position or go down all the way without touching the ground

could be different if your gym only has the moronic combined cable machine/pull up bar centers where the handles for pull ups are at an angle
