Why pay for a gym membership to run on a treadmill? Go outside in the fresh air, and do it for free. Same thing with people doing pushups and stomach crunches in the gym. wtf. Do it at home.

I do other things that I can only do at the gym then I use the treadmill because it's convenient.
Treadmills are very convenient, but going to the gym isn't really convenient. I have a treadmill at home which I purchased second hand for $100 (retail value ~$1000). I propped it up on some planks of wood to increase the incline from a max of 12% to 20%. The reason I bought it was to stay fit for hiking in the summer, since I usually do rather ambitious stuff but struggle to get very fit by just going hiking 1x/week during the summer months.
You could get a dog. Not as cheap as a treadmill, but will keep.you in hiking shape all year with the bonus of more fun.
It's not motivation I need. It's that driving out to the mountains for a 3+ hour hike is not something I can do on a daily basis, nor at all in Winter. Hence the 20% incline on the treadmill. The mountains where I live are steep.
I stairmaster at the gym to get in mountain shape. I feel I need to do longer sessions as my treks up usually take 8-12 hours.
>You could get a dog. Not as cheap as a treadmill, but will keep.you in hiking shape all year with the bonus of more fun.
Even better, walk someone else's dogs and earn money and make a good friend but you're not responsible for it 24/7 lol
>Go outside in the fresh air, and do it for free.
If you live in a city, running on the sidewalk is hell for your joints compared to the treadmill, though I agree I wouldn't get a gym membership just to run. is right.
>Same thing with people doing pushups and stomach crunches in the gym. wtf. Do it at home.
Agree.
>he lives in a big cucked city in current year
Why
most people in the world live in urban environments of some kind, it doesn't have to be a big city. if you walk otuside and it's mostly concrete then that's an urban environment. i would put suburbs in that category too
It's cold out my G
Weak boy
How cold?
lol exactly, many use it for walking even. Normies are hilarious
There's nothing more normie than lifting weights.
not really
homosexual
No
Treadmills are cool. Find me a route outside that has a constant incline that goes on forever.
Its cold, dark, raining, no street lights or sidewalks and Black folk
Why run on the gross treadmill in a sweaty humid environment, instead of exercising in the beautiful nature, with the cold weather callousing your mind and strengthening your discipline.
get a load of this fat cartoon-watching dyel kek
treadmill runner spotted. Yikes. You fit the WEF 2030 agenda perfectly. You will run on the treadmill, and you will be happy
But the outside is sweaty and humid and the gym is air-conditoned.
I would love to run outside in cold weather.
Even rain.
Fricking running in a heat wave though. Frick running in 100% humidity 35c outdoor temperature.
Frick running through Black persontown and frick snapping your ankle on a fresh pothole as you cross a road (I've done this before)
not everyone lives in southern Italy. tell a dude in Finland or Detroit to just "run outside".
What's wrong with Detroit you racist frick
nothing nowadays. you could probably be the whitest fricker ever and get away with jogging around the D.
baltimore on the other hand...
also IST shut-ins dont understand that you get on the treadmill next to a girl and talk to her.
I get on the treadmill next to a girl right infront of the fan and reek so hard she moves
They don't make me mad. Their memberships pay for all the expensive as shit equipment I use.
Im homeless.
running on a treadmill is better.
Then you are pathetic
*running, oh excuse me, oh running, passing through, oh oops. oh oh oh oh excuse me."
more like pic rel
Wear chains on your boots
Its hot out my g. 40+ degrees. Sometimes 50.
Lots of cute girls there.
a treadmill lets you control variables like a constant speed, constant incline, and whatever else
it's an excellent training tool
also unless you're trail running, running on concrete through urban environments is worse for you than being on a treadmill in a comfy gym
Imagine getting upset about what other people do with their lives
Focus on yourself
I don't really care about treadmills, but I hate how gym owners spend half of the gym budget on this bullshit
because three quarters of the members go there to go on them.
treadmills are convenient to have constant incline, which you don't find elsewhere
In principle I agree with you but there are always exceptions. For instance, I live in a shitty “diverse” neighborhood and see stray pitbabies outside looking for children to cuddle with on a daily basis, on average about three a day. If a dog comes at me while I’m outside running or doing whatever I just kick it but I get it if that’s not for everyone. With the push ups and stuff too, yeah it’s pretty gay but sometimes I just wanna throw in a set of pushups till failure after benching and there’s no reason I should wait until I get home to do it so I’ll crank them out in the group exercise rooms. It’s pretty obnoxious if someone starts doing push-ups in a power rack or right in front of the dumbbells though, that’s just shit etiquette.
I screwed my back up a few years ago and the Chiro advised against treadmills because you are not pushing forward like normal running, you are just bouncing on the spot up.
this is a very stupid post
correct
>chiro
why are you wasting emotional energy getting mad at the choices strangers make for themselves?
also there can be good reason to treadmill run. it keeps you out of the sun, it's in an air conditioned space if it's hot outside, you have complete control of the speed and incline which is good for things like heart rate training, you don't have to worry about getting lost or coming across obstacles like traffic lights/crowds/etc, the surface is softer than paths but more consistent than turf/trail. a lot of people are also on the treadmill just as a warmup or cooldown in conjunction with a complete workout. some people are there with friends, or generally socialise at the gym and are motivated by being in that atmosphere, etc. you also don't have to content with poor air quality, which in certain conditions can basically outpace the health benefits of running in the first place.
i love running outside, but for certain months of the year it's just not possible for health and safety reasons, and i'm still enough of a cardiolet that low heart rate training is extremely frustrating outdoors.
If I'm not feeling it I like to plod on these for 15 minutes to get my body to wake up.
>be me
>push day
>do my bench work then some volume OHP
>drive home
>do push ups
>drive back to gym
>do pushdowns and face pulls
happy?
Its cold and its dark as soon as I get home from work
there are spiders outside. running into spiderwebs is not fun. also i am american and there is a high risk that i will be struck by a car.
>he wants to frick the spiders
So I can maintain a set pace/distance and not have to navigate other people, road crossings, weather conditions, etc…
Why do you go to a gym to lift heavy things when you could just continuously pick up and put down furniture around your home?
>constantly dodging dogs + cyclists + people + cars
>far worse on joints
>can run in any weather indoors
>can run at any time indoors
>no mosquitoes biting you
I'm going to give you a true redpill. It's perfectly possible to run outdoors at any time regardless of weather.
>Go outside in the fresh air, and do it for free.
Yeah I'll get right on that.
seeing that image outside my window would trigger me to run so fricking badly. i dont understand.
>Why pay for a gym membership to run on a treadmill? Go outside in the fresh air, and do it for free
But there are black people outside.
