if you cheat hard enough it doesnt count but thats gonna be minimum 2 large pizzas or a 15 pack of chicken or a big mac meal and 4 6 mcdoubles. your body wont accept it all. anything less is waste and youll get fat. i learned this from bodybuilding icon Vince McMahon

      Thoughts on cheat days?

      this is true
      PEAT
you can eat infinite amount of calories before the gym
train hard enough and you'll burn all of it by raising your metabolism without limit
greatest gen was right, a big breakfast is the most important meal of the day
call it reverse OMAD, eat only breakfast 5k calories

This, you can only gain like 0.2 lbs of fat a day, you just shit out the rest because your body literally can’t metabolize it fast enough.

      Thoughts on cheat days?

I don’t really care. I eat pretty shitty and am still 10-13% bf. I just do hard cardio every day, at least a 5k run at 6 min pace or less, and do long runs (like 10 milers) on the weekends.
I still lift at least 3-5 exercises every day and do calisthenics for like 30 mins as well.
And I’m a middle aged man, so I think fatties are truly just lazy af. I’m not saying everyone should be shredded like a green statue, for a lot of people it’s not even possible above 6% bf, but nobody should be fat.

Should only be had on special occasions. Same with deloads. If you're not a hikikomori then life will happen and you'll have a cheat days and deloads thrust upon you

Cheat days are stupid. Just have controllable cheat meals on a regular basis.

You mean going over my caloric limit? Only on cardio days and even then I keep it less than 2300.

      This.

If your fat and on a diet don't do cheat days. Should alcoholics take cheat days? Smack heads? No. If you can't moderate your food intake, don't take cheat days.

If you mainly eat healthy because you care about your health then a cheat day every month or so isnt so bad. There should be a reason for it though other than to just binge. Otherwise that's a slippery slope

I literally lost 18 pounds in 2 months having 2 cheat days a week just by walking hour a day and eating 1800 calories day on the non cheat days.

Well done. You're not an addict.

Thanks but on those cheat days I literally consumed 3500 calories. That was twice a week.

I walked an hour a day for 4 days a week and I guess I still burned the weight.

Yeah because youre not an addict. Do you want some sort of medal for not being fat anymore?

My point is cheat days can work and even help people stay on their diets and lose weight.

Yes, if they are not literal food addicts. If they are addicted then they are the first step on the path to failure. Cheat days are still shit and should be for occasions not for the sake of it. Being thin does not equal being healthy

The alternative explanation is that you were very fat and so could make big improvements with small changes.

I just count my calories and exercise regularly so I can eat whatever I want. But I’m not a fat, so I don’t like shitty food, so my “cheat” food items are usually homemade with good ingredients.

A healthy mindset is to set calorie/micro goals by the week, not the day. If you do this, you recognize how much damage that 5000cal cheat day is doing. It also allows lets you know exactly how much wiggle room you have, so you can indulge in a slice of pizza or something and not break your quotas, so you feel zero guilt.

cheat days are just admission of self hatred
    eat what you want
    love yourself

I just do IIFYM and try to be generally healthy. I aim for about 80% clean food. Yesterday and today I had pizza, but still stayed under 1800 kcal so my cut isn't ruined. "Cheat" days are just days where I eat maintenance instead of cutting which has even been claimed to help break weightloss plateaus.

I don't do "cheat" meals/days because I start to fetishize "bad" food as this guilty indulgence that I have "earned" with periods of restriction.

Easier just to eat as well as possible all the time. If the girlfriend is craving tacos, I'll eat a couple of tacos and not ascribe it with any kind of ritualistic "cheat."

I'm surprised by how self-congratulatory this post is. This man already has everything, except he also seems to need attention from the internet for eating pizza. I feels insecure.

If that's how famous multimillionaires feel, how am I going to feel when I hit middle age?

Just quit giving a shit and find hobbies that are useful to keep busy, think mma, gardening, cooking, welding, auto work, etc. I still get fomo sometimes when I’m away from my wife and kids, but it’s whatever. Everyone is a moronic homosexual.

As long as it doesn't turn to cheat weekend, week, life, it's doable. Lots of people reward themselves with a chest day. Mine was just having breakfast on Sundays while doing omad 6 days a week.

    I don't get cheat days.

Like you can have such a varied healthy diet that it makes no sense to me why you'd voluntarily just eat the food equivalent of shit. It can't be cravings because cravings are the body crying out for you to address a deficit of something which you shouldn't have in a healthy diet.

Dont like calling them cheat days for the same reason other anons have said, you dont want to demonize certain foods as it can make you lapse easier.
You just have to be sane about how you do it. I get nandos/whatever ubered to me on friday night because its friday and i dont want to do anything after a work week. I make sure whatever I order only increases calories to maintenance so i dont get intense cravings later. After that, its back to usual good diet
