Minimize PUFA intake, raise sugar, salt, calcium and caffeine intake, Mr. Floyd
What is pufa
Seed oils, nuts, seeds, fatty fish, chicken and pork fat.
In other words, only eat fat from dairy, red meat, coconut oil and olive oil
Is that contributing to my thyroid getting worse? I don’t even think my diet is that bad
what about ldl increase from sfa? not that the sneed oils are good, but apparently saturated oils are bad too, not being a israelite just want to know whats healthy and what isnt
I am not a scientist, but from what I've gathered about cholesterol, the best scenario is to have normal levels in the blood stream. However to achieve that you can go about it with 2 ways.
>eat no foods with cholesterol and have shitty thyroid function (dumb and dangerous)
or
>eat foods with cholesterol, have good thyroid function and the body will do it's job. (safe and smart)
Now in the case of bad thyroid function, I would much rather prefer having high cholesterol than low, because cholesterol is protective.
Once you fix the thyroid function, the body will regulate the cholesterol.
Diet is just one factor. You didn't post bloodwork, I don't know what you eat, I don't know if you are overtraining, I don't know if you're getting sun/vitamin D, I don't know how your sleep is and I don't know what your stress levels are like.
Damn, I have 0 idea about hormones aside from thyroid, I was talking about low vitamin D, cholesterol, that kinda stuff.
Either way, I am not that smart. I think you should start looking into Ray Peat's work, that's where I learned all I know. Best of luck.
i had a cholesterol panel done in august
>had high TSH levels for most of adulthood (diagnosed hypothyroid as a man at 25 years old after years of high BP)
>diagnosed levoxyl for 2 or 3 years until they started giving me heart palpitations mid covid
>got tested for gluten intolerance, and gluten antibodies were 48mg/ml (standard is 2)
>dropped levoxyl from israelite doctor and palps and hypothyroid symptoms went away, blood levels all normal again
tl;dr, if what anon said previously doesn't work, cut out gluten, though I would obviously recommend getting a blood test first.
Ask specifically for gluten antibodies, on top of T3/TSH. Don't fall for the big pharma israelite like I did
What was your initial TSH and then t4 dosage that gave u heart palpitations
Don't remember end TSH, but I feel like it was around 3.8 before doctor started getting concerned
Levoxyl prescription was 50mcg per day, which I had to ween off of in the end because cutting it cold turkey will make your heart implode
50mcg seems like alot for subclinical hypothyroid from what ive read online
People I've talked to who suffered thyroid issues as well said the same thing. My doctor was a dipshit drug peddler though, they all are. Quite glad I switched to a naturopathic doctor who set me on the right track.
I had a bloodtest yesterday and got a full panel including a karyotype for my endocrinologist appt next month. My testosterone came back at 358ngdl and TSH at 4, the karyotype is for suspected Klinefelter Syndrome. Whether I have KS or not do you think I will be prescribed TRT and or thyroid meds just based off those results
I dunno man, I'm not a doctor, I don't even know what standard test levels are lol. I'm just offering my anecdotal experience just in case it might help.
no worries
