    It is useless
    You need to actually spar
It’s like playing ranked but with nothing but bots

To visualize an opponent and react accordingly. As a beginner it's useful for drilling specific scenarios outside of training (e.g. roll under and hook and counter hook, cross or cross, hook depending on which way you roll). When you're more comfortable you can work on more realistic combinations.

It's essentially the same concept as playing a past game in chess to develop a strategy against particular set ups or practicing against a ghost in racing games.

Dawg it doesn’t mean anything because its not fighting
You need to spar and box people better than you so you can become better

If you feel stupid shadowboxing it's because you suck. Shadowboxing, shadowrolling and shadowwrestling are all great ways for competent martial artists to practice move sets and movements that they are working on while also warming up and getting loose. You feel stupid because you suck and do not know what you are doing. You don't feel tired after ten punches? After something that takes maybe 20 seconds to do? I wonder why you aren't tried you fricking moron.

morons. It's not supposed to replace sparring. It's so you can practice what you want to do in sparring beforehand.

Chainsaw Man. Pretty damn good so far, weekly releases of the manga. First season of the anime is out, movie coming out eventually. Denji is a great main character, he's a fricking idiot.

I just do it cause it's fun and it loosens up my muscles. Also it is good for practicing form, I do it infront of a mirror to make sure i'm getting my elbows high enough on hooks and keeping my opposite hand up when i'm punching and stuff like that.

Well you shadow box in front of a mirror and you do it for like ten fricking minutes at a time

You can't shadowbox unless you've been sparring first, its used like the lab mode in fighting games, figure out what works and what doesn't using pre-set configs so to speak by a person you know how they fight.

Its hard for people that can't visualize, but anyway, it would be useful to have a tennis ball hang from something, you hitting that thing and dodging around.

A workout is 2000+ per hand with combos.

I'd do that many reps inside your mom's pussy and ass with my fists till she's completely wrecked know what I mean? If she's not available your cousin/sister will do.

do combos give a punch counter multiplier if I keep the streak up?

No. In fact it would be better if you are doing combos in the thousands.
All the decent early boxers practiced shadowboxing early on.

When you see someone at a commercial gym meant for lifting weights doing shadow boxing or pad training really loudly to draw attention, just know there’s a reason they didn’t sign up for a boxing gym to do all that in there

    >t. Boxed for 5 years and did Judo as kid up until senior year

He could be adding it to a regular workout for whatever reason.
      It's not always moronic.

No, it is moronic and it’s cringe. It’s like being a DYEL, but for fighting. It’s all to put up a facade for everyone around them, as if to say “yeah I may not be big and muscular, but I know how to fight”. If they were really serious about boxing, they’d be doing it in a boxing gym. That’d be like going into once of the zumba classes in a studio and just doing bicep curls and screaming and being annoying about it while everyone is trying to do the class.
