You should be getting exogenous testosterone supplementation anyway so who cares about natural T levels?

its almost as if starving yourself is a bad idea

But there's a fasting general here with plenty of enthusiastic anons, tons of fasting influencers on social media, fasting subreddits, all praising fasting as a way to lose fat and build muscle (through stuff like autophagy, reduced inflammation, and boosting HGH).
Is this a coordinated psyop to reduce men's already low T even lower?

There's a lot of fat fricks on here that need to lose weight so of course they get shilled this method. That there's a general and it's active and full of posters is proof.
        >Is this a coordinated psyop to reduce men's already low T even lower?
        It's just a dumb meme.
The raypeat schizos are right, fasting is not good for you.

Caloric deficits will cause your test level to drop. That includes just regular cutting or w/e.

Most of the health info I see on IST is fricking moronic broscience or has incredibly shaky scientific backing (Ie: basing a ton of decisions on a single study that was never replicated).
Influencers in general are bad sources of info as well since they make money off getting people to watch their content, and a great way to attract viewers is to say something that sounds novel and interesting.

If you want to gain muscle, do what body builders do. They never ever fast.

If you want to live long and be healthy, do what healthy long lived people do. Don't eat enough to get fat or muscular but continue to lift weights. Maybe fast but idk.

I can't find any source confirming this, but it sounds entirely plausible.

Short-term fasting (up to 24 hours) raises testosterone because your body releases stress hormones to give you a boost of motivation to find your next meal.
Long-term fasting is just plain old starvation, so if you overdo it you because low energy, weak and frail.
Intermittent fasting is also a meme, because it's more similar to long-term fasting (aka starvation) than it is to short-term fasting.

    STOP EATING FOOD
BODY EAT MUSCLE AND FAT TO STAY ALIVE
LESS FOOD=LESS NUTRIENTS LIKE PROTEIN AND LESS TESTOSTERONE PRODUCED
    LESS MUSCLE=LESS TESTOSTERONE PRODUCED

    IT IS VERY SIMPLE

doesn't that just point to fasting being the best way to lose fat? do it quick and then get back to normal eating. 3 day fast and 27 at maintain VS 30 day cutting

  9. 9 months ago

Yeah it lowers test in normal healthy men like the studies say, but in fat frickers who need to fast (and should be the only ones doing it), it should only benefit hormones because being a fat frick is worse for them.

This. I hate the discourse around fasting like it's a miracle cure for everything. There are other people it might benefit, but by in large it's a good way to get a 400 lbs person down to the low 200s or even 100s in a short amount of time.

testosterone is a hormone which requires fat to produce. on a low fat diet you body will naturally have a hard time producing enough testosterone and will start converting glucose and protein into material to use for hormones

I dunno buddy, I just finished a horrific 48 hour dry fast in 95+ degree weather. I felt weak and shitty at the time I broke it. But I just woke up the day after, with a raging fricking hardon. And getting hard doesn't require porn anymore. I just gotta think of a fine ass girl for a few seconds and my nub turns into a stallion.

Also, I do OMAD daily with a day or two of eating above maintenance. I eat meat of course cause I'm not a homosexual.

I also do semen retention, and edging without cumming. I haven't cummed in a month.

My favorite hooker is coming over in about 2 weeks and I'm going to clap her cheeks until I unload a month and a half's worth of cum into her.

Not going to bother reading the studies but I assume that tested levels are lower during periods of fasting, but once the fast is broken they go back to 'normal' levels.
It doesnt mean anything, its not as if its permanently lowered. Test levels fluctuate wildly throughout the day anyway.
Being awake lowers test levels. Does this mean people should sleep 24 hours a day?

    >Interestingly, the decreases in the anabolic hormone, testosterone, did not lead to any deleterious body composition changes or compromises in muscular strength.
It's common sense that when you don't have the nutrients that are converted into test your test will go down. It will recover the second you have the resources again. This ephemeral reduction is more than countered by the other benefits.

Yes fasting reduce your test, but in the long run being a fat frick and having to pussy willing to frick you would be way worse for your test

No way a moron in this thread said that you need fat to produce testosterone
    Absolute dumbest fricking shit ever.
Less bodyfat = more testosterone and less estrogen, this is true up until literal BB competition level BF%’s. morons think that cutting down to 12% will “tank their hormones” are moronic fatty copers.
Optimal hormone production and aesthetic level is 8-12% bodyfat. Anything over this is fat. If you are over 12% bodyfat your opinions on body comp, hormones, aesthetics and longevity are absolutely meaningless.

      Truth at last

Maybe that anon meant cholesterol instead of fat, but apparently excessive fat becomes estrogenic sp it could never help increase test.
