Wait, is sleep debt a real thing? And it lasts longer than one day apparently?

IDK but it feels so good bros. I literally have not worked in a year and three (3) days now and it's the best I've felt since high school. Can never go back to treating myself so poorly and stressing over work.

I studied and invested everything I could for 3 years, made a few good moves in crypto tbh (fake internet tokens). Will maybe work part time or start a few business plans in the works this year but taking a year off has been a God send

Just brute force your sleep schedule by taking melatonin when you wanna sleep and setting a shit ton of alarms when you wanna wake up. It’s what I do

You feel like shit when you interrupt your rem cycles which get smaller than longer you sleep so you are more alert when the sun is coming up during the end of one.

You pay interest on the sleep debt too Anon.

From my calculations you owe the sleep gods 184 years 36 months 21 days and 14 hours of sleep from all your debts with cumulative interest.

In my experience, yes. If I get a few nights of bad sleep or break night entirely, it takes a few nights of good sleep to recover. It's not a 1:1 thing though. If you miss 16 hours of sleep in total over the past week you don't necessarily need 16 extra hours the next week.

Didn't used to be, as a teen I could stay up for two or three nights then a single good rest would fix things. Pulled an all nighter recently and it's been like 4 days and I still feel like shit. I'm not even 30 yet.

You never paid off the debt on the Teen years sleep debt where the interest rate was about 0% anon. But then the sleep economy changed and the interest went up on all your old sleep debt.

Took a loan out on a bed with a fixed rate. Because of record high inflation though my payments shot up and I couldn't afford it. Got my bed repossessed and now I can't rest my head and am incurring more debt. Sleepbros I..

Mine cryptosleep. It might not work right now, but if you just keep doing it and other people do it, then we will all pay off our sleep debts all at once.
