WAKE-UP CALL?

99% of people here started working out in order to improve their lives, become more physically attractive and healthy, as well as gain confidence.

Somewhere along the way the vast majority of you autists started caring more about the numbers you lift, instead of your original goal. You started a perma-bulking cycle, many of you lifting 5 to 6 times a week, ignoring every other aspect of your lives. You are just as lonely and sad as you were when you started lifting, only now you have more muscles.

Nobody cares about how much you can squat except other socially inept gymcels.
Nobody finds a buff body attractive.

Your goal was to build a nice body which you'll enjoy by living a nice life. You don't enjoy life if you hit the gym 5 times per week, overtraining and then coming home tired asf and doing nothing for the rest of the day.

You aren't getting any younger than you are right now. Stop wasting all of your time awake working out and thinking about the gym.
Get a life. Incorporate Mike Mentzer's routine. Realize that hitting the gym 2 times per week is more than enough, provided that you train hard enough.

Realize that a lean body with reasonable musculature is the ideal. Women do not find the buff manlets attractive. Do not sacrifice your facial aesthetics by bulking in order to gain the most amount of muscle you possibly can.

Stop wasting your prime years, get lean, workout on a reasonable timeframe and frequency, and live your life.

You are supposed to enjoy the musculature you built, not go to the gym every day, bust your ass for 2 hours each time and do frick-all for the rest of the day

Wake up

And if any of you homosexuals unironically started lifting with the prime goal of getting a 3pl8 bench or something autistic like this, and he genuinely doesn't care about anything else, by all means continue to do so

But most of the people here have lost their way

Based OP. Train to look good, feel good and play good, not to chase number going up at the expense of your looks and health.

when i first started working out i went to a small local gym that had some regional level bodybuilders and once when i was squatting one of them asked how many sets i have left. i said 2 more but im resting 3-4 minutes between sets, he said that's a lot and asked about my program. i roughly translated the starting strength routine to him and he looked at me like i was moronic and calmly explained someone was playing a prank on me and told me he could show me how to lift if i wanted. two days later we did chest and bicep and i felt real skin ripping pump for the first time and never looked back. so glad in retrospect i only wasted like 1.5 month on ss before i was saved

    This
I eat healthy and train 5 times a week, 45-75 min a day, lift what i can lift, biceps all days, triceps every other day, chest every other day, abs every other day, at least two leg exercises a day, never overdoing it (some friend of mine barely walk out on his sole leg day) and some others.
I get home all days with enough spare energy to do whatever i want before sleep.
And I'm getting awesome results, i have 4.6% body fat, my legs, abs muscles are defined, my arms and chest are getting there.
If there is a better way idk, but this works for me, and i don't have to give up my life for it.

I usually work out 5 times a week, but usually only 1 or 2 days out of these are strength training. The rest are cardio, yoga, HIIT. And I don't really use barbell for strength training, usually it's just calisthenics, dumbbells, and sometimes machines. All of this feels really good, I can't even imagine how people work out while forcing themselves to do it.

Here's the thing though - if you powershit your way to lifting super heavy weights, THEN you cut, you will have a great physique and what's more, you will have it as you age and you won't need to do as much maintainance then.

If you make your way to 4pl8 bench, you ain't ever struggling at 2.5pl8 bench again no matter how much weight you lose or lazy you are about gym (barring completely giving up all lifting). Not until you are ancient or get some sort of injury or disease. The higher your peak the higher your basal floor is going to be.
