I want to wake up at 5 AM so I can hit the gym by 6. This requires me going to bed at 10-11 PM the night before
How the frick do I go to bed earlier if I’m so used to sleeping at 3-4AM, sometimes 5?
Please bros, I just want to sleep earlier…

Stay up late and exercise, sleep after
Problem solved.
Just get into bed and go to sleep?
I'm in bed right now.
Once I post this reply I'm putting my phone down and shutting my eyes.
I get up at 3am every day so I can get to the gym at 4.
Just do it. It's the only answer.
Like with everything, just exert self control and will power
moronic answer. If you're not tired you can't will yourself to sleep. Self-control and willpower are necessary but they can't brute force literally everything.
Sounds like you just lack self control and will power
You literally can moron. Stop over stimulating yourself. Get off your phone and computer an hour or two before bed.
Lay down and close your eyes.
One of the things the military teaches soldiers is how to train them to fall asleep within 10 minutes anywhere anytime so they can catch micro naps on the field.
I've been there. What worked For me was to skip a night of sleep, then fall asleep at your desired time the next day. You'll be tired as frick by then and it will be easy to sleep at your desired time. Then when you wake up at your new morning time, make sure you get some sun and physical activity within a hour or two of waking up. This will help your body adjust to your new circadian rhythm.
Good luck, anon!
Doesn’t sound like a bad idea
Don't do it, it makes mustard gas.
Do what said. I used to have the same problem of completely fricking my rhythm and needing a reset. Skipping sleep for a night and forcing myself to stay awake was the easiest option
You can try getting a full time job. Im always sleepy around 11pm cause I gotta wake up for work early. Even on weekends I go to bed and wake up at same time, which is annoying as frick cause i want to stay up late and also sleep in
Wake up early first, and get some sunlight or bright light into your eyes asap. Set an alarm and just force yourself out of bed. This resets your circadian rhythm and you'll naturally become tired earlier at night. Also, avoid bright lights a few hours before your new bedtime.
Alternatively, you can keep resetting your schedule an hour or 2 earliwr until you reqch your goal schedule (so if you sleep from 3am to 10am, set your alarm for 9, then 8, and so on).
Go to bed a little later every night. Eventually you'll be going to sleep at 8-9 PM and waking up at 5AM
just do cardio in the evening and stop eating 3 hours before your planned bed time
Is that Lorde?
No the fitness girl who showed her pooper
Just take melatonin
dont do this... melatonin is good on the odd occasion, but the typical dose is more than the body can process in a day and so stays in your system further exacerbating the issue by removing the contrast from your tired/alert cycles over time.
take 1/5th dose at most
>take 1/5th dose at most
how much are you talking about? some of the reviews that that a single pill did nothing for them.
set your alarm real early
then force yourself to get up even if you feel like total crap
go through your day normally and don't nap
then you can go to sleep earlier the next day since you'll be tired earlier
its ez
glycine and melatonin, no screen half an hour before you need to go to sleep. Be realistic, you can pull 20 minutes either direction with this approach. Main thing that will anchor you to a new timetable is the point when you wake up. You need to set the alarm 20 minutes earlier than usual, get out of bed exactly in the moment the alarm goes off
as for the mental prep, I have a syndrome of doing "just one more thing". You need to let go of it, the day when you go earlier to sleep, is the day when you wont be able to do this last one thing, because you are going to sleep no matter what
Drop caffeine for a few days
Drastically reduce electronic screen time
Wake up early one day even if you feel like shit and then stay awake until like 9-10PM, you'll fall asleep right away if you did it right.
