Waterfasting

How much can I lose realistically waterfasting in ~14 days ? Gained 20kg since last year after my knee surgery. Also will get back into working out after months of doing nothing. Also I don‘t take any electrolytes, but I drink coke zero, energy zero or black coffee to be honest. I started sunday after eating a lot saturday at christmas workparty

you are like 40kg overweight. i would recomp for 2 years. unironically. like a 300-500kcal deficit, aiming for 2kg a month. some months might be more some might be less down the line. like i get it you want to fater fast and do extremes and get rid of it all in a short time. but its not gonna happen. it has never happened, and it will not happen now either. to permanently change your body and get rid of fat and build some muscle, you are looking at 2+ years MINIMUM. even that is absurdly optimistic but atleast its mathematically possible.

Not bad. But I need to lose atleast 2x that.

      14 lbs.

I want to lose atleast 20 but max. 25kg. If I’d lose 40kg, I look like an aneroxic. Also I already lost many kg‘s in the past relatively fast, but with frequent gym sessions and low calorie diet. Now I‘ll see what happens

Yeah I’ll try to find in a supermarket tomorrow

you're seriously planning to not eat anything for 14 days? gl with that.
technically speaking, you'd loose about 3-4kg

          I think around 7kg.

          >water fasting
So you're not going to drink water for 14 days? Or do you mean just "fasting" which is where you don't eat food but still drink water because you literally die without water for 3 days. Fricking morons here have no idea what they're talking about, this board is full of smooth brains who don't deserve to be fit.

Lmao this idiot doesn’t just talks out of his ass. Dumbass if you don‘t know what you‘re talking about then just stfu

You're right, go take 14 days and don't drink a drop of water. You've figured out the secret Big Water has been hiding. Fricking moron, anyone who calls it a "water fast" deserves cancer.

3.6kg fat weight, 0,4kg muscle mass, ~2kg of water weight (that'll bounce right back once refeeding)

Yeah, you're just talking out of your ass. You can definitely go more than three days without water and food (weeks even), I'm in the process of doing that now, and it's easy enough.

      >So you're not going to drink water for 14 days?
People call that "dry fasting". Seeing as there are so many short-term fasting protocols these days (16:8, OMAD, etc.), I most often see the term "water fasting" used to refer to extended fasts where you're only consuming water for a substantial period of time, and electrolyte supplementation is typically required.

Dry fasting makes me lost fat insanely fast but also destroys my muscles. Longest I've done is 8 days. Was shooting for 9 and had to end it. Kept the (fat) weight off for six months and gained muscle after, though.

Personally, I don't really see any point in dry fasting, I think it's a meme. Extended water fasts are, at worst, a tiny bit slower at the expense of being overwhelmingly safer and more manageable. I really don't buy that dry fasting is any faster than water fasting, anyway, you're just going to see a much faster water weight drop on the scale since you're not taking in any water.

I did it because I was suicidal. Unironically made me realize I was wasting my life and revived my love for fitness. Also mase my skin soft and blemish free. Also fixed some hormonal issues, funny enough.

During my 8 day fast I lost about 3lbs a day on average and gained back 8lbs when hydrating over a three day period. So 16lbs in 8 days, which is definitely faster than water fasting but not really worth it if you're normal and not desperately trying to do a body reset.

I had this fantasy when I was a depressed and obese teen. You actually did it. Based.

Enjoy losing 10 pounds and then regaining 20 once you start pigging out again

Yeah obviously pigging out again is not a desired outcome

Too bad. There isn't a faster easier way to lose weight. If this is your attitude going into this, you aren't going to make it.

2 years for 20kg are fricking slow. But it would probably be the healthiest way, I‘ll give that to you.

You're right, go take 14 days and don't drink a drop of water. You've figured out the secret Big Water has been hiding. Fricking moron, anyone who calls it a "water fast" deserves cancer.

Everybody besides you calls it „water fasting“, but forget it it’s okay, you‘re right

        >everybody calls it the wrong thing
That doesn't mean they're right, it just means everyone is moronic and group think is ruining society. I've literally never heard anyone call it a "water fast" before coming to this shitty joke of a board that is vaguely dedicated to fitness. Go get another booster, that will help your fast.

I fasted for 12 days earlier this year. I lost about 18 pounds or so. All I drank was water.

What was your experience with the regaining?

        Anonymous

With the regaining? Well, firstly; do NOT eat a huge meal after fasting for so long. Introduce foods very slowly, and start with easy to digest things like yogurt and oatmeal, in small quantities. After the fast I started small, with some tuna and rice, but shortly after that I just went all in like a moron on food. Long story short, my stomach became very upset and I kind of felt like I was dying. But, as long as you change your dietary habits and stick to it you won't have a problem keeping the weight off. My weight has fluctuated a lot since I left highschool. Been from 160 all the way to 240 pounds at my heaviest; I'm at about 218 pounds now.

Do the fast for the health benefits. Weight loss is a secondary result and shouldn't be the main objective. Don't forget to replenish your salts and vitamins.

    We have similar goals OP.

In my case, this year sucked and I want to at least achieve the "not fat for the first time in my life" goal to save it.

Fastest ways to lose weight ranked?

    >1) Hard dry fast.
    >2) Soft dry fast.
    >3) OWAD (dry fast for most of the day then drink some water with electrolytes at the end).
    >4) Water fast (drink as much water with electrolytes as you want)
Search for snake juice on YT.

Starting this Friday I'm gonna document my journey on the /fat and /fast generals.

    See you there dude.
