    >burn 3300-4500 calories a day

not in your wildest dream. human metabolism does not work like this and unless you know the absolute forefront of research on this topic you are behind.

you do not really burn calories weightlifting. this is why you get fat when you bulk instead of burning it off simultaneously

You absolutely do burn calories by lifting..

You don't burn fat when bulking because bulking literally means a caloric surplus, moron.

I maintained a perfect 1 lb/week weight loss with just counting calories against what my Apple Watch said i burned through bmr and lifting

This post was so dumb I busted out Excel to do some math.
His hypothetical 12 to 16 hr/week exercise is burning 750 to 1350 calories an hour. That's like sprinting uphill. We know NNT ain't sprinting anywhere except to the fridge to get more humus and olive oil.

And then the protein math? 4500 calories of his 13g protein/100g pasta (in the US, pasta is closer to 5g protein) is 450g/protein a day. Of shitty wheat protein. Say goodbye to your intestinal lining.

In conclusion, NNT is a quant genius who has never once posted a receipt of his supposed vast fortune even though he has no problem bragging about the rest of his life. His books are very insightful, however.

900kcal / hour is a light jog for men of an adult weight

      >3300-4500 calories a day
Not even close. How did he calculate this? If the average male BMR is about 1800kcal, plus 2hrs of exercise even at the top end (high intensity cardio) 800kcal, that's 2600kcal in total.

How out of shape are you that jogging at a 10-11 min / mile is taxing?

Working out doesnt mean just gym. Actually 16 hours of pure strenght training per week would cause non steroid users to get overtraining symptoms unless they were just taking their sweet time. He probably means 1.5 hours of cardio per day and then 30 min strength training per day on average. Which is a supremely healthy split. 1.5 hours of even zone 1 cardio is easily 1400 kcal for a fit person. Honestly running is probably more if a person is fit. This combined with the kcal strength training and the increased metabolism being a fit c**t gives will get you to 4k per day easy. And if you are tall 4.5 is not crazy at all.

And for anyone who's going to be an idiot and pretend that it doesn't, I suppose the energy for the increased protein synthesis and other aspects of post-exertion repair that happens when you're not actually exercising comes from the space between the multiverses or something huh.

2 hrs of HIIT would definitely burn more than that.

The caloric math is BS as usual, but I will say that I am shocked with the number of people I see who only hit the gym for 30-90 minutes at a time. My MINIMUM time is 90 minutes, and that's very rare for me & leg day exclusive. I am usually at the gym for at least two hours, oftentimes three or more.

he's talking about cardio. anyone can be in the gym for 2 hours if they're playing on their phones between lifting sets.

Let's see the results of all that time put in at the gym. You sound committed, like you've been going for years, maybe.

40-60 minutes is all you need. An hour and a half is way overdoing it unless you‘re doing cardio too.

    >2 hours per day
People in the past worked out for 4h a day. 2 blocks of 2h. This doesn't include walking around everywhere. Well, a leats the nobles did, but I can't imagine the lower classes being LESS physically active than the upper classes.

But then again, fwiw, I had time of 3-4 hours of physical activity/day in the past, I didn't lsoe any weight, in fact, I gained some, in spite of eating less than before at the same time. Putting CICO to the test basically, it doesn't work.

    Try it out:
    >Half all your food portions
    >Walk 20k steps a day (takes 3-4 hours)
    >Repeat for 2 weeks
I gained like 2 lbs, how about you?

Reduce your food portions to zero for ~4 weeks and double the exercise.
