        They get it.

Like an herbal supplement, loosely used in this context, the effects will take a couple weeks to happen. You may or may not notice cause as time progresses as the "supplement" will slowly increase its potential.

As far as memory, weed can effect memory. Essentially, the part of the brain is less likely to *retain* memories. Memories can still be formed but essentially the brain will go "ah, I don't care or need to be mindful about that" and yeet that shit. The brain tries to be efficient and lower effort as possible. Be cognitive. Be aware. Memories tricks can help like verbalizing, stating a goal out loud, basically talking to yourself. It'll active more regions of the brain which can help memory recall. Find an emotional connection can help with memory retention as well. Need to go meal prep but feel the couch lock coming on? Put your thoughts into how maybe you enjoy the act of cooking, the taste of your food, or the post-eating feeling being sated. Or just smoke after cooking.

General cautions about using cannabis: it is a depressant, ages 25+, Decreasing your awareness
s and perception. Lifting high can be dangerous and less likely to recognize potential risk. Weed can also bring out underlying, unhealthy traits in someone. Not to say that it's the plants fault. Personally, I think its more about surfacing personal issues so they can be recognized. Apathy, for example, could mean that maybe there is a lack of passion or enthusiasm. Maybe its time to change your perspective on something rather than ignore it. Yes, it can cause unwanted side effects like paranoia, anxiety, etc. Again, I think it may be underlying and counseling or therapy is suggested if unhealthy behavior presents itself. Or just think about the shit that makes you unhappy and how it can be changed to be healthier.

I use it, not only for physiological reasons but mental and spiritual benefits. Weed can strengthen or weaken your mind. You decide how that momentum swings.

Oh, and do regular use more edibles. I make my own using coconut oil, water, jello packs, and gelatin. Smoking isn't the healthiest. There are portable vaporizers that will vape from the flower itself. Oils and tinctures are too untrustworthy imo. Too many additives. If you do smoke, invest in some hemp wick. This is for a lower temputure flame compared to a lighter. Fun fact: most lung damage during fires isn't from smoke, it's from the heat. be kind to yourself. Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. If you find a drug has control over you vs you over it, it is no longer a useful tool/medicine.

Yeah 1-2 years is not that bad assuming you weren't an adolescent at the time. Any permanent effects would be imperceivable over time if you take care of yourself. I'm more concerned for my own case when I smoked occasionally from 16 to 18 and more often from 21 to 25 with several long-term breaks.

Pointing out the detrimental effects of a drug isn't a moral panic. Cannabis advocates conflate 1930s fear mongering with more recent scientific research to discredit any criticism of the drug. It is well-understood that cannabis use ages your brain faster, lowers IQ in adolescents, can cause psychosis in those genetically predisposed, causes cardiovascular and respiratory problems, can cause dependence, can worsen depression and anxiety, lowers exercise tolerance, and can cause testicular cancer just to name things off the top of my head. These are all backed up by studies that are easily verifiable online. I smoked weed for years and I don't think it is that harmful to most people but acting like it isn't a substance of abuse and acting defensive is just sad.

I don't know why you bothered writing that response when you admit yourself that it's whataboutism.
One drug being worse than another is completely irrelevant to anything unless someone is so dependent on self-medicating that the idea of not habitually using any drug is unthinkable.

Weed does definitely have negative effects from using it

Just because there are drugs out there that could be considered worse doesn't mean weed is a harmless and you can smoke away to your heart's content. This is the other side of the 1930's fear mongering, which is people like this guy who won't admit any negatives to regular use of a psychoactive drug. You're both doing the same thing.

Getting kicked in the balls is better than getting kicked in the leg, that doesn't mean being kicked in the leg is "good". Weed isn't good or bad, it's just a substance and has effects.

Cope. Stop smoking. The boredom goes away. The difference in REM sleep is night and day. I was an everyday smoker for 25 years until last year. I still get absurd dreams every night. I went from 40 minutes of REM a night to 2+ hours.

Yeah it only fricks your memory and concentration while you use it. You can recover if you stop using, granted it will take some time.

My take on it is that the brain is pretty much like a muscle, and weed just makes you lazy and immune to being bored. So if you spend 10 years stoned and doing nothing it's like if you spend 10 years sitting on a chair. If you try to run and you can't is not the chair's fault, it's yours for not moving. Same with weed, it just makes you not challenge and use your brain enough.

If I quitted you can too anon. Good luck.

to answer your question about 6 weeks for it to leave your system. problem is THC is fat soluble and your nerves and brain cells are coated in mylein (fat). whether or not it actually impairs YOUR memory or just your motivation is contentious but you can't know for sure until you've abstained long enough for it to leave your cells.

Besides, there is nothing natural about modern cannabis and it's THC levels. The average stoner wouldn't even get a buzz off a naturally occuring cannabis plant found in the wild.

Modern weed is to the naturally occuring cannabis plant what a chihuahua is to a wolf. You would never find it in nature and your entire perception of the plant is based on ignorant delusion, and you yell "propaganda" to justify your addiction to a man-made crutch.

Adults memory deficits only exist as tolerance does.

    Adolescents have permanent memory deficits.

Correct. Cannabis permanently reduces gray matter in under 25s.

Dumb stoners never recovered from this fact, figuratively and literally.

Smoking weed as a teen gave me psychosis. If your mental health isn't so great, I don't recommend it.

You guys might have just been moronic from the very beginning, if you cannot focus while smoking weed tbh. I smoke a blunt before reading and study sessions all the time, and experience, if anything, a more pleasant learning experience with more retained and internalized information.

I am currently experimenting with weed after taking a 20 year break. I want to do it now then as part of my cardio/chill routine on weekends to wind down. I want to find the optimal amount to smoke where my mind stays clear but my body starts to relax somehow I cant that point. I either get to baked or I dont feel much either. Is this even possible?

Yes, if oyu are super disciplined. I also got back into it after it became legal here where I live. I was taking micro doses just to get a buzz after my workouts. Then it turned into a small hit. Then it turned into a regular sized every day smoker hit.
But micro dosing was best in my opinion. Something to just feel good but not completely change my state of mind

yeah micro dosing is where I am at atm as part of my experiments. last weekend I did like 3-4 small hits before my cardio run. It was fun but I was maybe to disciplined and threw like 1/2 of the joint away... but well next time its 5-6 hits. I am positive I will find the right amount without getting all paranoid and shit.

Lmao, its hard to stay disciplined and not increase your dosage with each session.

Wouldn't it easier and healthier to use edibles to microdose? I don't really see the appeal of it personally.

I cant just buy edibles here and its to much of a hastle to make something. I also heard there can be long delays after eating it before it kicks in. I usually want it to kick in at specific times like right before my run.

With no tolerance, you're looking at 7 mg for the effect you're looking for. This is a single hit or an edible

Do you understand that high school occurs prior to college? So one's years in college are more recent than his years in high school. So your weird rant about kindergarten really makes no sense in this context.

I'll never understand how anyone can be willing to smoke (or drink) daily, I usually get annoyed after a few hours and wish I could be fresh and sober again, then don't even think about even touching weed for another week, because getting dumb and lazy makes it harder to properly unwind

It has no effect on your memory, improves your mood, has no effect on memory, it will boost your appetite which is good for /fit, also has zero effect on memory.

Weed is obviously deleterious to the body and spirit, but no need to make it a moral crusade. Weak people will continue to get addicted to it, while the strong will be able to use it occasionally without issue. Those who aspire towards strength will abstain entirely, which is probably good for them.
