I have literally no friends and no family.

        >Do you even leave the house?
Most weekends I don't, don't have any friends either but sometimes my family wants to do stuff, quite rare though.
It is what it is, it could be worse

    >my phone addiction is so bad my attention span is dogshit that I haven't watched a single movie in a month

All I can watch is Family Guy clips on YouTube max 2 minutes long

All I do is lift and browse IST mostly

I was watching 1-3 movies a week a few months ago but then my internet addiction took over and now I haven't seen any in ages

ban yourself from youtube shorts, tiktok, any short form content. seriously it improved my life so much and although i use my phone a lot still i'm not just consooming literally the worst, poorest quality, content on the internet. that shit is actually asking for brainrot. sooner you cut it out the better.

      You've been hyper-zapped.
It's a post modern phenomenon that is nuking human experience of reality. attention spans shrink and then there's lees complex and quality information being transmitted because of lesser attention spans and then because of less quality communication people gradually lose anything worth saying or talking about.

I like to point out modern political blocs being reduced to fights over sex fetishes (like the homos endorsing communism simply because of the word communal relating to orgies) as part of this, literal idioacracy.

reading is just like working out but for your mind.
Since you haven't done it in so long, if you tried to read the good shit right now you wouldn't even be able to understand it. As a occasional book reader, I have to say, books are superior to all other media types, they just require more work to get the juice out of them.

perfect I already own that but never got around to read it.
              shutting down IST now

catch-22 and neuromancer, very entertaining novels, with pretty decent pacing that will keep you engaged.
Neuromancer might be hard to follow if your reading comprehension is low.

thanks I will unironically buy them now

Pretty much my experience. I went from being degenerate frickup moron that was constantly in the social limelight and surrounded by women and friends and fricking off with something always planned. I got sober and got my act together and now I'm a total fricking hermit and can't stand people.

I dunno sometimes I just wanna go back to being an alcoholic. It was definitely more fun.

Unironically go to a church with lots of young people. You don't even have to be a proper Christian, they just know how to have fun without drinking and are non judgemental

        >church with lots of young people
        No such thing
I've been to an orthodox church and the only young people there were male sub 5s who are destined to be involuntary celibate monks

Depends the church you're in, some will obviously skew older (cough, cough... Anglicans)

it takes a bit of effort to find, but they are out there. don't be afraid of looking at the more contemporary churches; they look woke from the outside but they are actually pretty reasonable and the members/congregation are often conservative and have their shit together. it takes trial and error though, you will find a lot of churches not suitable for you.

It seems that way because the algorithm suggests you successful channels but for every one there are thousands of failed smaller channels
I've been posting go pros of my hobbies and getting 1-2k views per video but it'd be impossible to turn it into 'making bank'

This is me except every few weeks my friends come over to my place to play vidya and ping pong. It is good. I also do BJJ twice per week which is always a good way to spend 2 hours of an afternoon that would otherwise be on youtube or IST. Would recommend.

Read the book Feeling Good by David Burns. It goes over this exact situation and basically how to get over your depression. Someone on here mentioned this book a few days ago, and I've been reading it. Amazing! Basically CBT. Actions lead to feelings. You're going to feel so much better when you get off your couch this weekend.

What I do is pretend to "go out", dress up nicely and leave the house and then literally just aimlessly walk around the town for about 5-6 hours and then go home pretending as if I was out there drinking//having fun or whatever with my "friends". All that just so my parents don't feel sad for me.

Also how I spent the last 6 New Years Eves straight

    >basically the only time I leave the house is to go the gym
    >I always feel embarrassed because whenever my parents ask where I'm going, the answer is always the gym

I don't know why I feel this way.

Going to the gym is objectively a better, cheaper, and healthier way to spend your time than doing normie stuff like spending $50 on drinks just to feel like shit the next morning, yet I feel like if I was doing that I wouldn't feel so embarassed
