Weight Mastering

Anyone try 'Weight Mastering'?

Pretty much just pick a heavy ass weight you're struggling with (barley can do a single or double with) like 90% to 95% of your max and just use that weight until you reach a point where you're so fatigued that you can't do a proper rep anymore. Over time, you'll get stronger and you'll slowly be able to do either more reps or the singles will take less effort. Eventually, you can increase the weight like 10 lbs and repeat.

Thoughts? How moronic is this?

Try it. I know everyones trolling because it sounds like a moronic progression scheme, but they're also right in that it's basically progressive overload done in a very broad way. Basically going from 1-3 reps up till 10-15 reps or even higher.

Yes it is moronic because 1rp literally means a rep you can only do once and 1-3 rep max should also not allow you to do more than 10 or so clean reps for multiple sets. Afterwards you'd basically have to go down in weight or do another exercise, so basically doing a heavy training system as everybody who runs concurrent does. And if you wanna pick a hgher rep scheme you are basically doing what everybody else is doing.

        >should also not allow you to do more than 10 or so clean reps for multiple sets
Why? If you use the weight for a long time and get better at using it, what's stopping you from eventually hitting 10 clean reps for like 3 sets?

You can't work at maximal loads (90%+) for multiple working sets. If you could it wouldn't be 90%+

Eventually, you would. If you could only do 3 sets of 90%. You could theoretically go in next session and try for 4 sets.

Again, you are describing the most standard way of weightlifting.
