>4pl8 deadlift for reps >first real gf >5+ years of no lifting at all >2pl8 bench for reps >1pl8 OHP for reps (didn't train for it, came free after speed running bench) >3pl8 squat for a shitty single (frick this lift)
when I lost my virginity (not first gf) I was a 140lbs dyel, if you're lifting for girls you are moronic
>long arms and wide clavicles relative to my height (+3" monkey index) >good bench >obviously good deadlift >almost advanced tier weighted pull-up >shit OHP
make sense of this
2 different build types with the same muscle mass: >barrel chested manlets only have to move the bar 3 inches to reach full ROM >lanky string beans have to move the bar 2 feet to touch their chest
When people mention hitting 1/2/3/4, especially in shorter timeframes they are referring to 1 rep maxes, but doing it for reps is possible and should be your next goal after hitting all 4 once
Don't listen to the trolls
Working weight or at the very least 4-5 reps.
If it's your true 1RM (life flashes before your eyes as you line them up with the bar and prepare to unrack, absolute form breakdown, more grunting than a Turkish sauna, adrenaline dump+post-lift T boost high makes you want to start a race war, etc.) you obviously speedran that shit like an autist. You reaching brah.
It's true, I speed ran the bench. I simply couldn't accept existing as a sub2pl8 benching mongrel. The rep itself when the day came was decent, form didn't break down just a slight grind at the transition point between chest and tri's.
OHP was whatever, came for free after speed running the bench I didn't even do the lift.
Everything else I did for reps, I'm not comfortable doing true maxes on squats and deadlifts.
>slight grind
You had 2 normal reps in the tank+1 psycho rep only achievable when Rammstein's Mutter is being blasted at full volume and you're thinking of your mom's cancer (true story).
Welcome to the club.
If you fricked the shit out of her would she get moth dust everywhere? Because gross
If you can get a nice clean rep with those weights you’re probably doing like 95% of your 1rm so that would be around a 3rm. If that still does Make sense I invite you to learn more about fitness
Dude a win is a win. You get the lift you get the lift. Think about it. Youre doing 100% of your bodies capacity. Not on thing in the universe does its maximum without smoking a little
Preferably you dump it before it turns into a moronic crooked grind for 10 seconds. Or you don't, depends on how much you want it. A true 1RM is never going to look textbook pretty, you can train to get it "passable" but that doesn't involve technical repetition at easy weights.
It's also the easiest to cheat. You can easily squeeze an extra 20 lbs by leaning back a bit and recruiting your chest. Naturally bad posture (kyphotic/rounded back IIRC) also achieves the same thing.
I always find getting the OHP or squat first very sus, as in you're doing a god awful folded over squat shy of depth, or a OHP that is actually a push press or some olympic standing bench press variation.
You can fraud bench too, but everybody does bench so awareness of what is considered a standard good rep is higher. Frauding a deadlift is impossible, you can lift like an butthole but it doesn't benefit you in any way. Unless you pull sumo, which is something you should preface.
Nothing sus about it
I notice that everyone has 1 or 2 lifts they're just better at, for whatever reas9n, whether body mechanics, psychology, whatever
For me ohp was ridiculously easy to reach and haven't gotten the others yet but I'm not far on dead and bench
Definitely not push pressing and not a wild lean back. It just came easier for some reason
Nobody cares about OHP because its neither impressive nor a particular valuable lift to have in your training. Anyone that benches regularly can hit a 60kg OHP, its not impressive in the slightest unless you are a woman. Which makes your entire argument moot because only the weaklings on IST even call it 1/2/3/4, everyone only uses 2/3/4 as a strength standard
I'm just calling bullshit on the people claiming to OHP 1.5pl8 when they can't bench 2pl8. Even with the shittiest bar path and no setup you should be able to brute force 2pl8 for a single even if you never trained chest in your entire life, your chest only needs to pick up +20kg and your triceps is in a better mechanical position with a much shorter and more stable kinetic chain. It just doesn't make sense in any other context than the OHP being a push press.
I mean I agree with you that people on here inflate the shit out of their OHP numbers. If you bench 80 or even 100kg OHP you probably have a decent bench.
I was focused more on the part that I don't find a 60kg OHP ohp particularly hard to do when I was a beginner benching 90kg I could still get a 60kg, and a 1.5 ratio also seems to be quite normal.
>155lbs OHP >2pl8 bench >260lbs squat >fricked up my back so I don’t deadlift >had my first gf and lost my virginity at 26
I’ll be 30 this year and too autistic to date. Been a certified fat frick for the last 15 years but finally taking care of myself and down 50 pounds so far.
I squat 4pl8, OHP a plate and change, dead a little under 4pl8 and under 2pl8 bench. You might not like it but this is what peak performance looks like.
I only do legs once on Sunday morning and I feel that shit until Friday. If you’re actually doing a good job hitting big muscles once a week is plenty. Small muscles need more frequency I’ve found.

I know it's going to sound boring, but honestly just eat more food and keep practicing your bench. Right now I do 3x3 until I can hit it two workout sessions in a row. Then I add 10 lbs and do 3x1, increasing that to 3x1,1,2, 3x1,2,2 and so on until I can hit 3x3. I also bench lighter weight (for me 2.5 plates) for 3x8 on a lighter weight day. Remember, 3.5 is a 1RM for me.
If you're under 2 plates I'd recommend following any linear progression program. Strong Lifts, Phraks, Starting Strength. You'll get there eventually. The most important things are to eat, rest, and continually keep adding weight. It's not a race.
Interesting. Ive been thinking about dropping reps and increasing weight and then seeing if I keep progressing that way up to a 1rm test. I want to get it before cutting season which is coming up quickly
3pl8 squat
GF
1 pl8 OHP
2pl8 Bench
I never quite managed to get to 4pl8 diddly before I popped a disc. Never gonna happen now that I've sworn of deadlifting
I had a gf but this was right after high school and we dated for like a month and didn't do anything sexual so I don't count it. But actively getting someone to date you isn't hard, especially if you aren't ugly and somewhat funny/interesting
Not buying this one my man. You obviously have some muscle at the same weight as me but several inches shorter, but after one month? No prior lifting experience?
Idk man I'm 28 and lifted infrequently and inconsistently since high school and been a very regular climber for the last 7 years. But only recently started actually lifting. Been going 4 times a week. My last working sets (3x5) were 155bench, 100ohp, 295dead, and 235 squat.
Oh if you are a climber with years of experience and with those working sets I 100 percent believe it. I wasn't thinking it is 1rm or 3rm or something else but those were working numbers after a month
I enjoy benching but i suck at it
I hate squatting but it's one of my strongest
I like deadlifting but I've plateaued at 395
The only one that might be true is OHP. Don't really enjoy it and I'm also relatively weak at it
>Both my ohp and squat are 1pl8
I'm... Not going to make it, am I? >Inb4 post body
Imagine the fat ugly bastard hentai character and Brad from Lisa: the Painful had a baby then pissed on it.
My life has already been decided for me based on height and face. I'm a manlet with an unremarkable face, I have always been disregarded and ignored by everyone around me. I've never truly had a single conversation with anyone, nobody listens to me or takes me seriously, I say a funny joke once in a blue moon and then people just talk at me for the rest of the time. I have never really been approached by women or people looking to be friends, I've never had a woman show interest in me, I've never had sex or been in a relationship, my only friend group got bored of my unfunny shift and abandoned me. I could die now and it would cause more happiness than anything. No amount of lifting will make up for being an average manlet in current year, everyone is repulsed by me. I'm completely outcast from life and I will die alone. Manlets never win no matter what you do
Wow I'm so sorry for you anon, I'm literally crying right now life is so unfair right?? Well I guess there's nothing you can do about it, might as well stay in bed all day and post about how hard life is on the interwebs
I'm at 175 pound OHP, 265 pound bench, 395 pound squat, and I still can't deadlift 4 pl8 (not fore reps anyway, could probably do it for one if I tested 1rm) so that one
For me, the 3pl8 Squat
>1PL OHP

Im sorry, IST
I DYEL'd you
Gfs
Lost count

IST here, it's okay I forgive you
1/2/3/4 is outdated, it’s 2/4/6/8 nowadays
It's actually 8/6/4/2
how is gf harder? you can just get a random landwhale and call it a day.
This is the equivalent of doing sumo and claiming you got a 4pl8 diddly
pretty funny anon, I laughed a bit 🙂
In order I got:
>1 gf
>1pl8 ohp
>3pl8 squat
>4pl8 dead
>2pl8 Bench
I slacked a lot on bench and dead.
>4pl8 deadlift for reps
>first real gf
>5+ years of no lifting at all
>2pl8 bench for reps
>1pl8 OHP for reps (didn't train for it, came free after speed running bench)
>3pl8 squat for a shitty single (frick this lift)

Long arms?
Yup, long arms.
Not sure about high test but I definitely have wide shoulders.
Same actually
I suspect the same, my arms are quite long
That's a myth, long arms usually means wide shoulders and high test. You'll probably breeze through weight once you're going heavier.
It's always people built like a fridge with short arms and narrow shoulders who don't have high bench potential.
Long arms => longer distance to press up the weight => more work/energy expended. Ask me how I know you're a physicslet.
>long arms and wide clavicles relative to my height (+3" monkey index)

It's really not a myth
In my past 12 years of working out, I've had 14 sexual partners and 2 longterm gf's. I have never done the 1/2/3/4 though.
12 fricking years and no basic strength standard
I've bad news: u have to kys
Wow man
Useless wow
You write like an Indian, opinion discarded.
U r so dumb
>I've had 14 sexual partners
prostitute
that’s like one a year. honestly wholesome if it wasn’t involuntary breaks
This is what happens when you don't do SS. You stay weak but get a gf. It's the eternal dilemma
Depends on which sports you played in HS. 3pl8 squat was easy for me. I still can’t get 1pl8 OHP. I only do 2pl8 bench with a spotter
I’m doing 3x8s of these though. I could probably do it if I did a 1rep max
From hardest to easiest
>3 pl8 squat
>4 pl8 dl
>1 gf
>1 pl8 OHP
>2 pl8 bench
If 1 gf is meant a girl to spend your life with, then obviously that
getting a gf is the easiest if you think anything else you are an autistic incel
squat, easiest were bench and ohp
Is it for 1 rep or do you guys train with these weights?
When people mention hitting 1/2/3/4, especially in shorter timeframes they are referring to 1 rep maxes, but doing it for reps is possible and should be your next goal after hitting all 4 once
Don't listen to the trolls
it has always meant 3 sets of 5 reps for me but I was mindwarpped by SS and IST at a young age
you mean 5 sets of 5 you DYEL
Working weight or at the very least 4-5 reps.

My order:
1 plate ohp (EXTREMELY easy)
2 plate bench
3 plate squat
1 gf
(soon) 3 plate bench
still no 4 plate deadlift lol
For me its bench. Gd hate pressing
I got a 1pl8 ohp before anything else, is this a bad thing?
No, ohp is hard to progress on but it's also the lowest weight of the 4, I got ohp first too
Honestly I could 1rm 2pl8s I'm just not trying to snap my shoulders shit has not exactly been bussin for my rotator cuffs.
Hey what you should do is some shoulder rehab shit that'll get you straight homie.
It's also the easiest to cheat. You can easily squeeze an extra 20 lbs by leaning back a bit and recruiting your chest. Naturally bad posture (kyphotic/rounded back IIRC) also achieves the same thing.

stop quarter squatting
I have 0/0/0/0 and three girlfriends, and I'm loyal to all of them.
How do you people do legs more than once maybe twice a week without it tiring you out too much?
I only do legs once on Sunday morning and I feel that shit until Friday. If you’re actually doing a good job hitting big muscles once a week is plenty. Small muscles need more frequency I’ve found.

haven’t had sex in almost 6 years

why tf do people say this shit like it’s astute? no duh homie. I don’t want a hamplanet b***h that does nothing all day but soak up air and food.
Hardest one on here for me personally was 2 plate bench. I now bench 3.5 plates for 1rm.
May I ask what your program is for improving your bench? Do you follow a 5x5 flat bench workout with progress overload?
Would also like to know. Currently stalling at 175 for 4x6

2pl8 bench for me. I got everything else, even the gf. Feels bad man.
If only you virgins knew how mediocre and uninteresting most women are, you'd stick to lifting.
1 gf is the only one achieved so far but I will reach 1234 this year
For me it was

I had a gf but this was right after high school and we dated for like a month and didn't do anything sexual so I don't count it. But actively getting someone to date you isn't hard, especially if you aren't ugly and somewhat funny/interesting
for me it was:
1. ohp
2. dl
3. bench
4. squat
5.
my numbers as of 01/02/2024 are the followings
0.25 ohp
1 bench
1.25 squat
2 DL
1 gf had
how do I improve them?
Lifting since september
>1 plate OHP for reps
>2 plate bench as a 1rpm
>110 Kilo Squat (2 reps, form not to good)
>130 kg DL for 4 reps
Must work on my squat, but my balance is pretty bad and I am hesitant to increase the weight
Lifting since jan 1st. 5'9" 170lbs. 1 gf was the easiest since I'm already married. For my 1RMs:
>115lb OHP
>170lb bench
>275lb squat
>365lb dead
Not buying this one my man. You obviously have some muscle at the same weight as me but several inches shorter, but after one month? No prior lifting experience?

Lol I still feel weak as frick. I'm working to hit 1/2/3/4 for 3x3 by the end of the year. WAGMI bros.
I feel like the hardest to achieve is the one you dislike doing the most.
I enjoy benching but i suck at it
I hate squatting but it's one of my strongest
I like deadlifting but I've plateaued at 395
The only one that might be true is OHP. Don't really enjoy it and I'm also relatively weak at it
Deadlift is my hardest lift followed by bench followed by Overhead Press followed by Squat.
For me it's bench press
225lb OHP
365lb bench
225lb squat due to bad knees 🙁
355lb diddly
2gf
R8 my inbalance
I can't squat properly because I lack mobility. I only do good mornings. Everything else is ez.

I don’t bench.
I'm at 175 pound OHP, 265 pound bench, 395 pound squat, and I still can't deadlift 4 pl8 (not fore reps anyway, could probably do it for one if I tested 1rm) so that one
you are me
Meanwhile I hit a 4 pl8 deadlift with a 120 OHP. Suffering.
2 plate bench is piss easy
everything about weightlifting is "easy" if you are a manlet
except reaching the pull up bar
i could probably do 1pl8 OHP and 3pl8 squat for 1 rep max if i tried
bench is middle ground
and my DL is worse than my squat since i don't do DL
squat for me. it's the only one I haven't got yet.
