what am i doing wrong

ive been eating less, i cut my portions into half as much, i eat 3 meals and snack, this is what my usual daily intake is (im 129kg btw)

>breakfast - middle sized oatmeal with honey and milk.
>snack - small handful of nut mix
>lunch - 2 eggs and avacado on 2 pieces of toast
>snack handful of nut mix in r a mango or an ice cream
>dinner - 5 dim sims with onions sauce
>snack - desert of ice cream or handful of nut/chip mix

I use to eat twice as much in portions and have way bigger snacks wtf, its been a month of me eating smaller portions and im a kg heavier what the actual frick will i lose weight if i just stick to it for a few more months?

      To add, you might still be in a caloric surplua so youre still gaining weight, just more slowly. Nuts are very calorie dense. Try IF and eat REAL food - meat and vegetables. Foods high in protein make you feel more full. Replace a snack with a protein shake

      I have a hot take here: when I'm cutting I can't eat rice because I always end up overeating. I've been psychologically buckbroken by big rice so I subconsciously think it's healthy. I know I'm not the only one who does this, as moronic as it is.

    I'm currently on 1000kcal a day, 1 meal and 2 snacks(which is 200g of low fat kvark and an apple if I feel like i)

    "middle sized" meaning more than one serving.. so probably more like 2 servings, add in honey and milk and you're easily at 400-500 calories

    If you're being honest about a "small" handful then that's 200 calories

    2 eggs - 150 calories, avocado - assuming you're eating half an avocado, that's another 150 calories, 2 pieces of toast -another 150 calories
    >snack handful of nut mix in r a mango or an ice cream
    another 200 calories of nuts, plus "an ice cream" I'm assuming at least 1 cup, so conservatively estimating at least 250 calories
    >dinner - 5 dim sims with onions sauce
    not sure what kind of dim sum you're eating but lets estimate 75 calories a piece, so 375 total, plus another 100 calories or so worth of onion sauce
    >snack - desert of ice cream or handful of nut/chip mix
    let's go with 200 calories just to be conservative

    I'm being nice and giving you the most conservative estimate possible, which puts you at at least 2175 calories. and I highly doubt you're not eating more than that.

    your tdee is probably around ~2500 calories and you're probably eating well over that because you don't weigh your food or count your calories

      but what i was eating becore was around 5000 calories or more before i cut this low, which i think its around 2500 calories now and i still gained a kilo, i know what calories are ive lost weight before on cico

            You're not counting calories or you don't know how much to eat to lose weight.
            You need to eat less than you need daily. Like 1000 calories. You need to exercise regularly. You won't do that because you are mentally ill. That's why you put the wright back on. Losing weight is extremely simple. Its not your body; its your diet.

        You may eat now close to maintenance, you may have stored more water, who knows. You may have lost some weight and gained some water. What you need is calorie counting to better understand where you stand. Then you can further analyse

          maybe ill consider it depending how i weigjt next month i weigh myself. ive had to teach myself to not be scared of food which stopped me from bingibn recently and ive learned to accept smaller portions so cutting snacks should be easy at this poibt in my joirney (my mum made me scared of food types and made me believe carbs would kill me which lead to me binging in response because i believed i couldnt have it but once i believed i could have it i calmed down and now i can enjoy smaller portions, i just have to cut the snacks and maybe cut the meals with bread/avacadoeggetc smaller

    OP you are obsessed with food and are afraid of feeling hungry. My "body sex is female" as well, I fast on Mondays, do OMAD Tuesday through Thursday, and eat regularly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
    On my OMAD days my meal is 800-1000 calories
    Even on weekends I still don't snack, at most I have a dessert on Saturdays
    You don't need to do exactly what I do but at the very least you need to think about food less often and allow yourself to be hungry sometimes or you will never lose weight

    It should be small sized oatmeal, no honey and 1dl of milk. But preferrably just skip breakfast. I havent eaten breakfast in like 8 years and Im not even cutting. I just stopped eating breakfast since I started IF for my cut in 2015.

    Don't rely on guesswork. Use a food scale, measure your portions, and track your calories with an app like Waistline (make sure to enable the USDA food database). There's a very good chance you're underestimating how many calories you're taking in, it's an extremely common problem with people trying to lose fat. You'll probably be surprised at how much less you actually need to eat.

    Your body is adapted to metabolize all these simple carbs. Cut carbs and eat more fat, then restrict calories. Once you're fat adapted, fasting will be really easy.

    Calculate the calories of what you eat. It's incredibly easy to estimate wrong.
    Also, cut down on the snacking. Once a day should be enough. Drink a glass of water if you feel the need to put something in your mouth.

    I doubt you eat the same things every single day, do you? You could start tracking your calories more dilligently for some time with a kitchen scale and a notebook/one of those tracking apps. Then weigh yourself every day before breakfast, and take the median for each week. That number is your actual weight. Once you've got this process figured out, you can start slowly adjusting your calories, and see if the median weight changes. If it doesn't, you need less calories, if it does, you're good.
    Also as a bonus, try eating more protein filled stuff, it satiaties you way better and makes more of your weight loss fat instead of muscles.

    nuts are high in calories, avocados are high in calories, milk is used for bulking.
    nuts, avocados, and oatmeal might be healthy, but they're not low in calories. That's why you're gaining weight.

    Anon you have to count the calories to put any discussion on a more evidence based level.
    Also go to a calorie consumption calculator on the internet and calc your consumption (try 2-3 different ones, non is ideal but it’s the best you get for now)

    If you don’t lose weight you are either not in a calorie deficit or you lose weight below the hood or you ate the wrong calories (less likely at your stage)

    i just counted up all my calories, on a day with snacking i would be eating 3200 calories (doesn't make sense why im not losing weight tho cuz i was eating 5000 calories or more when i use to eat badly)

    Im gonna cut down to 2400 by avoiding snacks and (eventually cutting some of my meals smaller over time because i don't want to have my binge response go crazy cuz im cutting portions too fast and ruin it all).
