What are calorie dense foods that arent primarily composed of sugar?

What are calorie dense foods that aren’t primarily composed of sugar? It’s bulking season and I don’t want to keep eating >100g of refined sugar to meet my calorie targets. I eat 200g/500kcal of gelato every day, out of necessity (and it’s delicious), but it seems like an insult to the insulin Gods. I munch a good amount of (good) peanut butter and bread, but what are other good sugar-light calorie dense foods you enjoy?
>picrel shortbread

You mean no added sugar, but that carbs are fine?
Dude just eat some taters or beans or rice or whatever. Make some stew or chili.

I do love milk. I should drink more. Thanks for the reminder anon.
      > you mean no added sugar etc
I just mean high calorie density, but low on sugar, like nuts. Beans is a good shout too! Should make a fat pot of beans again. I appreciate the advice.

Lard, fat has more calories per gram than any other macronutrient. it is by definition the most calorie-dense food.

Lard in what context? Surely not just… lard?!

        Yeah he's being a pedant.

Don't bulk with excessive calories from fat. Be careful with your peanut butter. You need a minimum amount of fat to ensure proper hormone levels, but dietary fat is much easier to convert to body fat because...it's already fat. Bulk on carbs, as stated before, rice, beans, potatoes, oats or whatever if you're into that.

Do a no-fat diet. See how long you can survive with that tier of "nutrition"

Didn't say that you can't have fat, only that lard has almost zero vitamins

You two morons can't read. Classic ketoBlack person syndrome. Brainfog from ketosis they call it I believe.

Yeah have started back on the pizza train recently. 10/10 have missed while cutting, will eat more of. Also easy to add fatty things to, like chilli oil or cheese

Gonna go back to more milk, as you and another anon suggested. Also cheese drawer will live again. It was supplanted by vegetables during the cut—no longer!

Yogurt, cheese, and kefir have lower sugar than milk. It also helps you add some variety
Nuts, chocolate (dark has little sugar), meat, eggs, fried pork rinds
Fruit is typically high in sugar, but it has antioxidants, fiber, and nutrients, so the oxidative damage and inflammation caused by blood sugar spikes are mitigated by this. The fat that accumulates in and around the liver because of fructose is not mitigated by this though. Dried fruit is more calorie dense because it lacks water. Fruit juice is more calorie dense than whole fruit because it lacks fiber.

I can't even fathom having this problem. I have the appetite of a landwhale, I just work out plenty and have some willpower.

But to answer your question, spaghetti tossed with plenty of good quality olive oil, homemade meat sauce with ground beef, some veggies that make you happy, and of course plenty of garlic and seasoning. Some real peccarino Romano to top with if you want too. I can eat that shit every day of the week.

Unironically eat more white bread, carbs + sugar.

You want to increase kcal from starch. Your body doesn't really benefit from excess dietary fat, and fructose is shit for everything but fat gain.
So I guess rice, pasta, more bread. Get into bread baking I guess, fresh bread is delicious with just a thin layer of butter. Artisan bread in five minutes a day is a good book about no-nonsense baking.

    >What are calorie dense foods that aren’t primarily composed of sugar?
All actually calorie dense foods are almost carb free because fat is by far the macro with the most calories. Hence you lsoe fat by not eating fat. Americans for some reason have trouble with this very basic math, so they are all fat as frick.
