What are the downsides to an (almost) all stew diet. >red meat, lentils, and broth for protein

What are the downsides to an (almost) all stew diet.
>red meat, lentils, and broth for protein
>veg for vitamins and flavor
>potatoes for carbs, maybe bread to go with it
>hugely scalable to meet bulking or cutting needs
>hate the texture of liver normally, but throwing it in stew makes it negligible
Breakfast would be eggs, greek yogurt, and sardines for those nutrients, but I think living on stew would be easy to check almost all the boxes

This is why everyone should own a crockpot and/or pressure cooker. Very easy to make meals for an entire week that way.

How so? I make big batches of stew in a crockpot all the time. You just throw everything in and let it slow cook.

You'll get sick of stew after long enough. Otherwise it sounds kino

I think what he's trying to say is that when you're eating it 2-3 times a day like OP wants to a crockpot is too small

They're more versatile than a crock pot. Pressure cookers can do a shit load of shit though. Dutch oven is a more versatile and quicker crockpot with better results

as someone who's been eating stews and soups for 6 months it's just way too filling. I'm sick of eating for the day after 1200 kcal even with oatmeal adding another 400-500 it's an absolute slog eat. Also I've noticed I can no longer taste salt which is a huge joy killer. Don't know if or how it's related.

I love stew, but I'm struggling to find a recipe for a tasty version that I can make quickly in my instapot. It's a pain in the ass finding recipes online, because every recipe gives a fricking life story before just getting to the actual ingredients and instructions. And almost every stew I've made lacks sufficient flavor.

There are ways to cheat by using pre bought stock and higher end cuts of meat but the whole point of a stew is slow cook cheap joint cuts of with alot of sinew/connective tissue until it becomes melt in your mouth delicious.

good stew is not easy or cheap, just 'throwing stuff into a crockpot' results in mush that tastes like the individual ingredients.
a good beef burgundy is great but it is not easy. if you're going to do easy/lazy things then just eat the ingredients. a crock pot doesn't do anything magical to them.

I don't use a crock pot for stew. The only thing I use it for is to make greek yogurt.
I just have a big ass stock pot that I make like 2 weeks worth of stew in. Never had a problem with the texture.
      >heat pan
      >add olive oil
      >brown beef in batches
      >add most veg (carrots, onion, celery, garlic)
      >when softened, add potatoes, lentils, and most of the spices
      >when spices look distributed, add beef back in, fill with bone broth until covered
      >add some lemon juice and bay leaves
      >let simmer for 45 minutes
      >freeze most of the batch
The only weird stuff that comes up is freezing can make the bone broth separate some, but you just give it a good stir once you re-heat it.

Beef Burguignon along with most other stews are simple to make. You just need to be patient and give them loads of time to stew.
      BB
      >flour chunks of beef
      >brown them off
      >remove
      >cook bacon
      >remove
      >fry onions, carrots and garlic
      >add bacon and beef back in
      >tomato paste
      >pearl onions
      >pour in bottle of red wine
      >bay leaves
      >stew for minimum 3 hours on stove or in oven
      >fry mushrooms
      >add them to the pot
      >eat
Some people add stock but they are incorrect. It takes a while but I can get 6 delicious meals out of a pot. Nothing complicated about any of those steps unless you're a complete noob.
