      Your back and quads are 500x larger than your forearms. Why would you limit yourself to the forearms which are an accessory part of the lift.
      Use the straps, train grip in other more efficient ways, and you'll see your back and quads explode in size and strength because you can actually make DL progress again.

        I used to avoid chalk, straps, belt etc because I thought it was "cheating". Finally tried them out, squat jumped to 4pl8, DL over 5pl8. Buddies comment on how big dem quads and hammies are now. 100% do not limit yourself b/c of "muh grip" (don't ask me about upper body pls)

      i almost completely agree but some lifts i don't train till failure, like legs or stuff i'm lacking mobility or sporting minor injuries on. main reason is that i couldn't recover in time. and maybe i'll need some straps someday because i have baby hands.
