Really? What a waste of $80..
hair loss and strength gains. its worth it.
You will store slightly more glycogen in your muscles, like a few % difference, not much. Remember to drink more water and eat more carbs to get the full effect
Can anybody link some studies? I've heard creatine increases DHT which can lead to hairloss, but apparently that study was on resistance trained athletes and it was more likely the resistance training was producing DHT as a side effect of the testosterone increase from resistance training.
Wrong. The test, and I say “the” test because only one creatine study has ever looked at measuring DHT, was on trained rugby players. Any increase in DHT due to training would already be reflected in baseline levels
Damn so all we got to go off of is one study and a anecdotes about balding. Is it just a meme or have people here actually experienced it? If they have is it short term and you acclimate or just keeps going?
i took creatine in high school and was bald by 18 lol
I’ve been on creatine for nonstop 2 years and I’m almost 30. It’s about your genetics
You should get corn rows
For me, I just see the study as confirmation of the rumors. Even 10-20 years ago people suspected it made you bald faster
And you just know if the study found no statistically significant increase in DHT, redditors wouldnt care about the fact that it’s just a single study. It’s an insincere procedural argument because they don’t like the result
It's a meme. I've been taking creatine almost every day for almost 10 years and my hairline hasn't changed.
All the >creatine makes you bald posts are just crabs upset they lost the genetic lottery.
It’s literally male hormones can cause hairloss. Having greater ATP and glycogen storage can cause better lifting sessions which can cause an increase in male hormones. If you’re worried about hair loss from creatine the best method would be to cut your testicles off and start taking HRT
There was only like 1 study on it in the 1980s where they gave 14 rugby players 20 GRAMS of creatine a day, and only one player developed hair loss and they never even checked if he was genetically predisposed to it. My dad has been bald my whole life and his dad was too and I've been taking creatine every day for 10 years and still have a full head of hair, it's moronic broscience or baldies seething because they took it for a week and then saw a thread from other baldies seething and finally had an excuse for their weak genetics.
But is your mother’s father bald? Who gives a frick about your dad and his gay dad.
He had hair until he died so if it's your mom's dad for genetics then that just shows again that creatine has no affect and it's all genes and if you have shit genes then blaming something like creatine is moronic.
Does your dad know you’re gay?
Lol, and dutasteride doesn’t have any effect either. What a moron
Heh, must be a seething baldy. Don’t be jealous of my perfect hairline. I see what bald does to men. My father and his father are insecure betas.
Right, balding early is a terrible fate, so if you have the balding gene, you should do what you can to stave it off for as long as possible. 5% more weight on bench is not worth going bald faster. Now if you really don’t have the bald gene, take as much creatine as you want, it won’t affect your hair
you'll swoll up like bloatlord
i took creatine for 3 weeks and noticed hair shedding.
im on dutasteride and minoxidil.
is it likely i was overthinking or is hair loss real?
also how much difference does creatine actually make? can i build a good physique without it?
>dutasteride
Bro you have basically ZERO serum DHT, your body essentially can’t produce it anymore. If creatine actually raises your DHT enough for you to lose hair while on dutasteride, a fricking T-bone steak could make you lose hair
but zero DHT =/= scalp DHT
dutasteride only reduces scalp DHT by 50%
i’ve already been off of creatine for a week, i might try again in 2 weeks and see if it makes a difference in hair fall
>what
Nothing
>when
Immediately
Creatine can slightly elevate the levels dihydrotestosterone (DHT) your body produces. This hormone (among others) is responsible for hairloss in men, but only in those prone to hair loss of course. So creatine might speed up a the process slightly, but only if you're suffering from hairloss to begin with.
I gained 5 pounds almost instantly with creatine and was immediately stronger because I'm a vegan.
I just microdose it for brain protection, which is handy cause any more than that and the only gains i get is from resistant sphincter reps
