        Yes so as you progress and get bigger and move bigger weights your core will naturally add mass and thickness from stabilising your body.

        If you add dedicated ab workouts this early your you will tend to create a more boxy looking silhouette.

        Not to say a stronger core is a bad thing at all for stability and strength but for PHYSIQUE you want a decent taper. And while you can maintain a fairly low bf now and while you're young, you wont forever, you put on fat way easier AND your inner core muscles WILL NOT have atrophied, which means you may well be setting yourself up for having a barrel gut, years down the line ofc but something to think about)

          Fair enough, even when I'm older I'm gonna try and keep a lower bodyfat though, I find it much easier to cut, than I do to bulk

      You're pretty much spot on, I'm 157, and I plan to bulk until 180

      Overall would you say my physique is balanced though? Anything specifically to work on?

        When does your bulk end? In 2027? Kino was around 170lbs here. Im not saying you shouldnt bulk to 180 but I am saying that you should probably be mindful about the time frame. If you literally just leangain on a "bulk" for the next 3-4 years then that's fine but if you think of bulking to 180lbs until like Spring and then doing cut Im just telling that >90% of that is fat. And the more you gain fat, the longer you have to spend on a deficit and the more muscle you lose during.

        Roiders have the luxury of building so much muscle that they can make use of those extra calories. For naturals, you only gain x amount of lean muscle mass in a year and it doesnt matter if you bulked to 180lbs or 210lbs, the lean muscle mass you gained was the same. And in the end it was actually less because like I mentioned the fatter you get, the longer and harder time you are gonna spend on a deficit. So essentially you are getting worst of both worlds because you cannot gain more muscle mass than whats naturally possible.

        In hindsight with 12 years of lifting experience I would get rid out of the words "cut", "bulk" out of my vocabulary and also get rid of the arbitrary bw goals. Like what is the science behind the number 180? Why 180? If its gonna be fat and water, what the frick are you aiming for some arbitrary number? Especially when it completely relative to how fast you reach 180lbs. You could get there in a month and be fricking fat as frick. Or like I said you could get there in 3 years and be probably relatively lean because a good chunk of it was muscle. Altho you will never look like Kino so still a lot of is fat but anyways.

        I would just lift. If you want to increase your strength, then eat a little more. I dont wanna say bulk because you are not a bodybuilder. Just eat one glass of milk, one egg, one cup. When you wanna see your abs again, cut that one cup of rice.

          I was thinking about bulking for about a year, then cutting

          This bulk would only add about 23 pounds, and I'm still a beginner so I believe a good deal of it would be muscle

          I understand wwhat you mean about the arbiary weight numbers, but I just find it easier to use as a rough guideline, I have a bodyfat scale, so I'd be more likely to start cutting when I'm reaching around 20% bodyfat
