What caused animals to be so massive during the megafauna days?

And what can I do / take to become a mega-person. (My growth plates aren't yet closed but I'm only 5 foot 11.)

Were they just ODing on Deuterium Depleted Water? This was back when giants (Nephylim) roamed the earth too right? (Look into the Giant human skeletons they found in Rockwall TX)

moar nutrients in the soil->moar nutrients in plants->moar nutrients in herbivores->moar nutrients in carnivores, but then the dryas impact caused massive flooding that washed all the nutrients into the soil and now we're stunted manlets forever

the prevalence of human hunting destroyed part of the food chain. so even if man hunts out a smaller animal, the megapredators who live off those smaller animals (or larger megaprey) starve out as well. and of course man could easily hunt megaprey to extinction.

to answer your other question OP, the only way to bring back megafauna is selective breeding eugenics, of which you may not participate because u are smol.

Isn’t it amazing to think about how we descend form ancestors who lived outdoors with the most bare minimum shelters and spent all day being active, literally worked together as teams to take down prey 5x larger than us on a regular basis, men were guaranteed a wife (or multiple) if they could hunt, and if they couldn’t hunt they wouldn’t be in the tribe, they pushed through all adversity and survived and thousands of generations later they have descendants not relaly doing jack shit that compares to what they did? Just, sitting around and beating off to that one latina who looked like Eliza Ibarra they worked with years ago who would always sweat sweat pants to work and one time bent over back arched and shoved her ass and pussy all over your leg because she liked that you were shy with her but you were still too shy despite the blatant “come talk to me” signals so you just beat off to her social media, sometimes with Eliza Ibarras scenes and that one male pornstar who looks exactly like you while you switch tabs furiously between her Facebook and the porn? That’s what their legacy is? It’s crazy haha

This is cringe wankery of "muh ancestors" used to make you feel strong. They had the exact same anatomy, they weren't grappling on top of rhinos. It was a pack of skinny guy spearing moronic deer then sitting down for 3 days. We know from modern hunter gatherers that they barely do frick all.

Modern hunter gatherers are all Black folk and, just like their "modernised" kin, do frick all regardless of what era they're in.

I never implied other otherwise anon. In fact, I hinted at exactly what you said. “Worked together as teams.” They ambushed, and used planning to separate a single animal from it’s heard and drive it into a dead end/ canyon area it couldn’t easily escape.
It’s still far more bad ass than oh idk finding your stimulation in the form of a lubed up latex glove pulled over two sponges rubber banded together for grip stuffed inside a pringles can while you frick it and imagine your life together with that one latina coworker who you were too shy to talk to. Of course they weren’t wrestling rhinos and shit, of course that for the most part they were out of harms way, chucking dozens of spears into the animal and following it until it died. It is still, by far, much more impressive and more of a testimony to what it means to be a human than edging yourself for 6 hours to that one latina co worker while on cialis, not cumming, making the scene imprinted in your mind and then taking more cialis and going for an Asian massage and replaying the scene in your head and imagining it’s that co worker massaging you, keeping your eyes closed while you frick the shit out of the masseuse and imagine it’s her, occasionally opening your eyes to bask in the frustration on her face that she can’t make you finish already so she can be done because the power trip sends you, and then when you’ve had your fill finally dumping a massive 3 weeks of nofap and holy grail nut stack load down her throat. It’s just crazy how different we are.

It's simply the nature of evolution for some species to grow larger in order to more successfully compete for resources, while smaller animals fill their old ecological niches. It's simply a form of specialization. However, they become more vulnerable to changes in the environment, like all strongly specialized species, so they also go extinct more easily.

I cannot believe that nobody has posted the actual reason yet, the limiting factor for the size of terrestrial life, including plants as well as animals is the amount of oxygen. Back in those days there was more oxygen in the atmosphere.

If I get an oxygen tank will I grow more?

Depends are you an immortal being who passes from generation to generation enough to experience the changes of evolution

It has to do with oxygen content in the air. Incidentally, this is what got me into bonsai— I keep a bunch of tropical trees in my room, year round. Just got a new grow light too so I can get even bigger along with my trees.

There is no evidence for the "more oxygen" hypothesis. More likely it had to do with a combination of a completely different flora (no grass, no trees, no flowers, for instance) and simply a lot more time to evolve into immense sizes. Some evidence suggests there was slightly less to around the same amount of oxygen during the dinosaur periods as there is now, and that it was when it reached the current level that dinosaurs flourished.

        Anonymous

yes no trees, instead there was megafauna aka massive plants. massive plants means more oxygen production. so the "more oxygen" theory is completely viable

If we look at deep ocean creatures, the reason they get so massive is due to slower metabolisms and colder climates.

The land used to have more oxygen and plants before the great dying, the first mass extinction event on Earth.

Conditions to support life at that scale were ideal
Then conditions changed due to a series of environmental catastrophies
It suddenly became beneficial for animals to be smaller
