What do gymcels mean when they say they are "lifting for themself"?

I legit can't grasp the concept.

And no, I don't mean the guys that do an healthy amount of excercise to stay fit.

I mean weirdos like this:

It means when you're too much of a pussy to go outside look for women so you just cope by saying you do it for yourself, it's a meme, doesnt really hold any meaning

and unlike social-fakers, the above might actually find a wife one day

It's just another cope, especially in the bodybuilding world
Bodybuilding is literally aesthetics. It's like a b***h saying she puts makeup for herself, not for others kek

Lifting releases happy hormones. That's reason enough for me. Also
I can eat a lot without gaining weight.
I can stare at hot people in the gym.

Only autistic people try to semantically separate "lifting for yourself" and "lifting for others", it's all interconnected because you're a social ape, get over it.
    >roid monster

      This guy gets it.

I mean there are plenty of reasons to lift but if you pretend aesthetics and women aren’t part of the equation you’re lying to yourself or trying to attract men.

    Are you people stupid?
Lifting for yourself = lifting for longevity and higher quality of life.
Let me give an example. I am a married oldgay with kids. I don't need to lift for women, I have my wife. Frankly my family would appreciate the extra five hours a week if I weren't lifting. But I do it so that I can live longer to see my children grow and so that my joints don't hurt and my blood pressure and blood sugar and cholesterol and all that shit are in balance.
This is what the term means. Simple as.

OP specifically excluded guys like you (and me) though. I think he means actual gymcels who are roiding and chasing lifting numbers or bulking up huge / dieting down to low bf for no reason.

Because you’re moronic and are such a normalgay zogbot you don’t know what it’s like to not have a hive mind mentality. Everything you do is for others acceptance. You will never know what it’s like to desire to reach a level of human art that is extremely rare. You begin for women sure but when you’re really into this it becomes more than that

      >start lifting for sports, or girls, or to mog your bullies cause you're a weak homosexual
      >eventually get girls, grow out of sports, quit being a pussy, whatever the case may be
      >still lift because you're comfortable with your current state and are afraid of being small again
      >get bored after a while since you're not chasing any particular goal in the gym
      >have to come up with metaphysical cope to justify it
      >eventually realize you're being a homosexual with all the rationalizing
      >finally accept that you now have to lift forever because your physique is part of who you are in the mind of others and you have to lift to continue to be a stable and reliable force in their lives, a beacon of positive influence through your presence and your actions, a guiding light for the next crop of young men, a display of respect to your elders for passing down their responsibilities to you, and a reminder to your peers of their own capability for dedicating themselves to their own betterment.

The man who lifts for himself lifts for nothing, for that is all he is.

I enjoy going to the gym and I like getting stronger and looking better. I was already married with kids before I started lifting and never had any trouble attracting women in the past. So I guess I'm "lifting for myself", not sure why it's so difficult for some people to grasp.

The reason is simple, just like eating food, drinking water, breathing air. I have to do it, that's all.
Don't make lifting your whole personality, just like you 1RPM, it amounts to nothing.
