What does it take to achieve the full Asian squat?

Is it just a matter of stretching the frick out of your calves and hamstrings? I've been stretching every other day for a couple weeks now and I've seen literally zero improvement

just sit like for like 3 minutes and keep trying to do a full squat

i can squat like this for hours smoking and eating sunflower seeds. the way to do it is to sit in chairs with your feet pulled up to your ass like you're some autistic weeb detective. once you do this long enough you just tilt your body forward a bit and now you're squatting instead of sitting. i guess it also improves bloodflow a bit?

It takes a while but it's doable
Stretch more often and try to sit for an extended period of time in a position that stretches the ankles, longer is better
I did this when my ankles were too tight to squat below parallel and now I can sit comfortably

not sure ive been trying to improve my ankle dorsiflexion for like a month now and they are only slightly better than before.

    It's called a deep squat.
I've been working on it for over a month with great success.
But my fricking treetrunk ankles are taking their sweet time to adjust.

Youtube it and you'll be on the streets shitting in no time.

You literally have to be Asian. It's reliant on your hip being a certain shape.

Genuine lies, I've never had any trouble with it. Not my problem you don't have range of motion.

I'm 100% white and I can do it. Its literally just about what kind of physical activity you do. If you can do a headkick easily I guarantee you can do it.

I did krotty as a kid lots of kicking. I can do a full asian squat as a white guy. My parents can't so its actually because of the activity.

It's a meme but I was able to get there by doing the kneesovertoes guy's course. It's not enough to have flexible ankles, you've also got to have a strong tibialis. Still hurts my knees though, but I can hold it long enough to smoke a cigarette like my slav forebearers.

It took me about a year of stretching and squatting before I could do it.

For me it was pistol squat, though just adding weight and going deep is enough

If you can’t comfortably hold a full squat for an indefinite amount of time, you are functionally disabled

Seems to be just about flexibility. I can do it , but the western version is slightly more comfortable.

Possibly cope but I think it is harder to do with long femurs. That being said, I have seen improvement by holding the position for a few minutes each day eg while resting in between sets. A helpful cue is to contract your tibialis anterior (long muscle lateral to shin) to drive your shins to the top of your feet.

Has to do entirely with hip sockets. I have long femurs and have the deepest squat known to man, also slavic.

        Anonymous

Nothing to do with hip sockets, the problem is people not squatting. Every human should be able to do a comfortable resting squat, the issue is that most western people don't really need to be in that position in modern life.

The easiest way to get used to it is to ATG squat, use something to hold onto if you feel like falling backwards. Hold on to the position for few minutes until you feel comfortable and can do it without any support.

I fall backwards when I do it

  23. 8 months ago

    >1.
maximum human hip mobility unless you are asian(they can rotate their oelvis more to compensate
    >2.
a pretty wide stance to artificially shorten your femurs

if you are allowed to flex your back like asians do this is way easier tho, i can do it with a straight back tho

  24. 8 months ago
    Anonymous

Just squat, your mobility will increase over time. I can do full ATG hamstrings to calves without any special stretching

is this a fatty thing? wdym you can't squat? it's not about skin color. you're all just disabled as frick, lol.

    I don't have a problem doing this
    >am white, not asian
    >not flexible
    >haven't practed it
    >lean
    >short-ish legs relative to torso

I would bet a lot of it is just down to being thin enough, otherwise you'll have too much mass towards the rear and won't be able to stay balanced.

I'm not asian, I've long limbs, never practiced it and can still do it fully

  27. 8 months ago
    Anonymous

full squat is impossible once you have large leg muscle.
imagine it like sticking a blanket behind the hinges of a door and then closing it.
even though the door theoretically have the possible range of motion the blanket will prevent the door from closing fully.

Big muscles do not reduce flexibility
This is how I know you're DYEL

NTA, huge calves and hamstrings will be in the way for a painless knee in a deep squat.

  28. 8 months ago
    Anonymous

You can extend the ability via stretches but it's not guaranteed you'll be able to reach the same depth, genetics matter. Asians indeed have advantage because of their hip structure, but as a tradeoff their women don't have nice asses. Someone should post the pic related to that.

Me and my siblings have always been able to squat like that and we're white. My mom said one time we were at our grandparents house and my grandpa commented on how we were "squatting like a bunch of asiatics".
