like 50lb dumbells seems to be the breakoff for NORMALgayS to say "that's strong". weightlifters will not agree

      >50 pound dumbbells…
50 pound dumbbells what, you fricking moron.

like lifting 50 lb dumbells, smart guy. just merely being at 50lbs for your dumbells is "strong" to most normalgays. most normalgays have 20 or 30 lb dumbells if they have them at all. don't be so fricking quick to jump down people's throats calling them moronic. sometimes you just don't fricking know what someone is saying.

but yeah also you could say anyone who can do like... 10 pullups is strong here to THE AVERAGE AMERICAN MAN NOT FITNESS FREAKS

i think he meant to clarify maybe. using a 50lb dumbbell to squat with is not going to be as impressive as doing skullcrushers with 50lb dumbbells

            Anonymous

i know what he meant. merely having a dumbell that you use with one arm is enough. anything that involves that

Can't an untrained man just start benching 50 lbers for reps the first day in the gym?

oh my fricking god you guys give it a rest. FINE when some guy has a pair of 50 lb dumbells in his room, most americans will think "HEY! DURRR THAT'S A STRONG GUY DAAA" because they don't think "this guy only benches with these dumbells. He probably thinks, oh he does CURLS, hammer homosexuals, Black person gays, and ship dibbles with these.

Who the frick has dumbells and JUST BENCHES with them? a moron.

I mean they can try but with no experience and an obese body with a sedentary lifestyle, they would probably hurt themselves in some way even if they were physically capable of doing it.

strong relative to the general population? to the gym going community? to the powerlifting community? also, are we comparing to like demographics (young men) or the entire populace?

general population since bringing it down to gym goers is just gonna go right back to the lifts we all already know about

unironically to the general population, I feel like being able to OHP the bar a few times, bench 95 lbs a few times, squat a plate, and deadlift 2 plates is considered "strong". the lack of fitness in the usa in particular is disgusting and I think IST is an echo chamber that makes everyone think they suck when we're better than 99% of the population already

I get those Rocky montages from a narrative standpoint, but pushing yourself to these body-breaking extremes days before a big fight is moronic. Wouldn't you be doing light training, maybe some cardio and getting shitloads of rest before a big fight? Packing on muscle takes fricking ages so those pre-fight intense workout montages just look moronic to anyone who actually pursues fitness

The montage was a compilation of training that they were doing over a period of several months,we're not sure if they were training just like that before the fight.

And to answer your question, any visible muscle.
If you're low enough bodyfat for definition to be visible then you're a demigod. Slightly above ottermode is most admired.
But get too big and people find it freakish rather than admirable.
Getting too big seems to provoke a "ew, incel' reaction in normies as getting into Sulek territory is seen as cope and tryhard.

Average person has absolutely no sense of scale and can't tell the difference between deadlifting 100kg and 300kg.

One armed pushup will be one of the most impressive things because it automatically gives some sense of scale to the fatass who can't do one normal pushup.
