I went almost 6 years without a haircut, it does get a bit ridiculous past a certain point. You have to brush out so much every day and then it's impractical to go outside without tying it back, so what's even the point of even having it. IMO around shoulder length is a sweet spot. Can tie it back in a few ways but also fine to go loose as long as it's not crazy windy.
