Just seen a video that said ppl twice a week isnt the best for recovery, but ppl once a week only targets your muscles once a week so pick your poison
If you can't manage 45-60 minutes of working out 6 days a week then you should go to the doctor because something is wrong
>something is wrong
How do you figure that? If he finds this suits him then let him workout in peace. Would you prefer he go balls to the wall and quit? Get a glue.
Waste of time. If you only have 3 days a week its better to do full body 3 x
isn't this just a brosplit? back & bi (pull), chest and tri (push), legs 1x a week
anyway if you're asking this question just do fullbody like said
You'll do fine.
No. Brosplit is different. Brosplit is just one "body part" per day. PPL, is programming more around certain functions and then legs.
>back & bi (pull)
And rear delts, the long head of the triceps, and the spinal erectors if you're doing any rows.
>chest and tri (push)
And the anterior delts, the spinal erectors and abs and if you're doing any standing motions, and the lateral delts if you're doing OHP or lateral raises.
is it true that 6 day ppl is only for people on gear?
yea
but i like push and pull
sort of, I did that for a long time and it was fine but once you build a lot of strength recovery becomes an issue, and at some point I could see you simply not being fully recovered before another cycle of PPL without getting on the juice
What’s a good full body program? Literally everything pushed nowadays is some kind of split
All full body training is powershitting.
Just do one of the 1960s bodybuilder routines from Steve Reeves or Bill Pearl.
All I see are splits/six day shit
Have you done your linear progression? If not, get on starting strength and get your noob gains.
If you're an intermediate, get on the Texas Method, and hate the mondays.
>get on the Texas Method, and hate the mondays.
Love torturing myself with 5x5 at 90%. Great stuff.
correct
wtf no
I cut mine down to 5 days a week and do upper lower push pull legs
Why does IST refuse to just run a brosplit?
My arms were stuck at 15 inches doing a PPL, or UL, or FB (the 3 main routines recommended online)
Then I finally got on a brosplit and my arms grew to 17 inches lmao
Brosplit unironically superior to these science based higher frequency routines… who would have thought having a session dedicated to arms and only arms would make them grow dramatically compared to just tacking them on to the end of a workout like all the science routines have you do
So... UL and PPL are just variations of the Bro Split. I'll just list the bros and cons.
Brosplit- Everyday has a focus allowing proper rest and recovery as well as complementary lifts spread out far enough also the fact every muscle group has a day means is ideal. The issue is it is not very flexible which is why pros or smart lifters run it but normalgays can get fricked up by it because they second you miss a few days it becomes Chest/Shoulders/Arms.
PPL- sort of like the 5/3/1 of lifts anyone can run it, it is simple and it is flexible but it is almost too flexible and depending on the lifts picked you can lag in areas and excel in others. Also separating the legs into it's own day has always been an issue because it quickly becomes PP or PPA.
UL- Great for recovery and the most flexible because regardless of how many rest days or missed days you will be doing the next part or if you do restart it is literally the next day you get to the lowers instead of waiting 2 days like PPL. Main issue again depends on the lifts you pick not because of recovery but because it is easy to miss muscle groups so you need to be on top of your shit.
FB- Noobs, powerlifters and guys trying to get their fundamentals back in order. Great if you are new. Terrible once you are no longer new due to the increasing toll on the body and it's ability to recover from full body lifts.
Any newbie who does not do FB for his first 1-2 months deserves to be in lifting hell with all the DYELs.
Made my best gains doing PPL monday/wednesday/friday. Was bulking and 16y old test machine though
just do ppl twice a week you homosexual if you are worried about recovery you are a dysgenic loser
a) why?
b) you’re not targeting the recommended minimum volumen for hypertrophy.
b) why?
i bench 3pl8 at 175bs on a once a week PPL. Well its actually kino's program but ppl 1x a week is essentially a brosplit or technically a gentlemans split.
I do xPlPpLp. For me PPL twice a week without reducing intensity is too much. On light days I can clearly feel that there's no way I could do the same weight and sets that i did on my heavy day.
Nothing happens.
You should do full body if you only go 3 times a week.
Arnold split is what I did in high school and worked great
Chest/Back
Legs
Shoulders/arms
Rest, repeat
Averages out to 5.5 workouts a week/11 workouts every two weeks with the rest.
Or, do:
Back/shoulders
Legs/core
Chest/arms
I slow bulked from 185lb to 215lb @ 6'4" and maintained my abs/leanness. Looked like a monster in 2011 compared to my dyel classmates
