for me, it's both but cardio seems to help more
going for a nice long run or bike ride helps relax me for a couple of hours afterwards. Lifting helps too but I feel too moronic with how much I check my phone between sets
Cardio helps to discipline the mind. At the beginning I had to have music playing in earbuds when I ran. Eventually learned how to zone out and do cardio without it. Even on 1hr+ long runs
