it's very filling, and incredibly simple to make. I'm trying to get away from ultra processed foods while also being poor, and lentils have been amazing to work towards that goal
>They found that protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score(PDCAAS) and the average digestible indispensableamino acid score (DIAAS) were higher in red lentils(PDAAS:55.0; DIAAS:0.54) than in green lentils(PDAAS:50.8; DIAAS:0.49). >Although lentils are rich in minerals, their bioavailability is limited due to the existence of multiple antinutritive factors, such as phytates, phenolic compounds, and oxalic acid.
Interesting I wonder how much it demolishes the nutrients absorbed then
That's a bullshit score tho.
It's calculated based on the ratio of amino acids a human needs.
That sounds great, until you realize you don't care, because you're also eating some meat, eggs, whatever, and your essential aminos are covered. Then you can reach extreme protein goals for cheap.
I usually just put the red lentils in the pot with the rice and cook them together(2 parts of water, bring to a boiling point, reduce the flame for 20-30 minutes of simmering). Don't think I've even soaked them.
Cheap filling bulking food.
They have their problems, but for the price can't be beat.
If you can find dry lupins, they're even better (but an hassle to prepare).
They aren't meat substitutes, they just help you fill your macros.
Shit hippy food that scratches your colon and stinks. Garbage. Just because they're cheap, it's no excuse.
KEK, what a homosexual. MUH COLON IS SCRATCHED OUCHIE LMAOOOOOO
Stick to your alphabet noodle soup and chocolate smoothies then.
I RIKE RENTIR
I RIKE RENTIR
Asia is le bad?
Potato and lentil curry is great. I make it on Fridays because I don't like fish.
Sounds nice and satisfying and cheap

Based currychad. I enjoy red lentil curry as well. I'm looking into making red lentil tofu next. Not vegan, just a poorgay.
Shit protein quality and antinutrients that will make you absorb virtually none of the vitamins and minerals
What’s makes you say this?

Good with Rice.
+Takes less time to prepare(soak) and cook than peas.
+Give less farts.
-Not beans.
How to cook them?

Makes both less watery too.

Food of the gods
Lentils are a shitty source of protein moron. Just eat the meat.
