I would do around 500 - 1000 pushups, 1000 situps, 200 - 300 squats/ lunges (all with poor form) and run a few kilometres every day. I did this with poor nutrition, no rest days, never took time off to heal injuries, and didn't have a social life because I was obsessed with being a fit, mentally tough, warrior protege that went to the special forces and killed terrorists or some shit. This was in the early 2010s and I still remember that feeling of fanatical self belief. It all fell apart when my worldviews were challenged by the fact that my body started breaking down, highschool ended so I had to actually seek social interaction, I got educated about the human body and most importantly I developed a sense of self worth that wasn't based on physical feats but on my role in my family, community and friend circle. Goggins never developed that sense of self worth, he will keep running because he is simultaneously chasing the dragon of diminishing returns and running away from the fact that if he doesn't stay hard he is a failure in his own mind. There is also the fact that this is his grift and livelihood and he is presenting a version of himself to the public for views and money that may not actually reflect his core beliefs.
