What is the IST shoe of 2024? I know that Converse used to be recommended, but apparently they're out of fashion, and may even have associations with femboys these days.

What an insanely feminine thread
>apparently they're out of fashion
shouldn't even be a concern in the gym lil bro
fbpb
>wanting to attract gym zoomettes is feminine
ah yes the age old method of attracting women through your choice of shoes at the gym
You wouldn't know. The downie looking powerlifting chick in my gym struck up a conversation with me and complimented my Merrell Vapors. She's alright, just not my type
You don't have to worry about that anon lol. Why would you want some b***h that works out anyways, then you got some woman encroaching on your hobby
What an insanely fragile ego you have. Scared your “masculinity” will give out?
i had my feet replaced with hooves to get closer to my goal body
so that
Hahaha.
A truly minimalist shoe. This should be obvious. If you impair normal foot function, how are you supposed to maximize performance?
I use the $20 bargain bin shoes I got at the discount store
just make sure they don't stink. some pajeet in my gym has legit the worst smelling shoes/feet I've ever had the displeasure of smelling
when he takes of his shoes it's like opening a garbage bin
>apparently they're out of fashion, and may even have associations with femboys
Really? Do people think this way about a fricking pair of shoes?
Like I give a shit. My Chuck’s have been lifting with me for the last 7 years and I still have other two pairs almost new.
I have squat shoes for squats, everything else is with barefoot shoes. Much better
the only distinction that matters is weightlifting shoes (raised heels) vs flat soles or barefoot/socks, if you're lifting in joggers you're a tard
wdym lifting in joggers? the frick am I doing wrong?
A jogging shoe is for running, it has dampening to reduce the force transfer into your knees/hips on impact. When lifting you want zero dampening between you and the ground.
oh jogging SHOES I thought u meant like jogging pants/sweatpants. my bad.
I lift in striped adidas sweats myself, it's 120% optimal
Am I ever going to be in danger of hurting myself for wearing really crappy shoes to go squat?? Sometimes I feel a little click between my 3rd and 4th toe which freaks me out.
Shoutout to my 9 year old sneakers btw. These are absolute champions of a pair of shoes. I'm so proud of how long they've lasted but I slip and fall a lot in the snow because the grip is gone.
squatting in sneakers is moronic, you want zero dampening on practically any lift
They won't let me in the gym barefoot. Also im really new to this so advice appreciated.
You can squat in socks, or shell out for a pair of weightlifting shoes. Flat soled shoes like Converse (rip out the small inner sole) work too, it's preference and depends on your mobility i.e if you can hit depth or not without messing up your torso position. Heeled shoes also give a slight quad bias.
If you are going to take this seriously I recommend just buying a pair of whatever, exactly what it is doesn't matter just that it's not a running shoe. Lifting in socks is fine but the lack of friction isn't ideal
You should buy minimalist shoes, the real kind.
can you wear these shorts? What are they called?
Any nike or new alances
barefoot masterrace
This. When staff bothers me about it I say I know the owner and they leave me alone
It’s fun to lie on the internet, homosexual
>inb4 tired home gym joke
crocs and PJs
Vans
Vibram Five Fingers saved my knees
crocks are surprisingly stable for squatting. I use them as at home slippers and usually can't be bothered to take them off and put on adidas powerlifts
buy squat shoes, the difference is unreal, even if you don't have any problems with the ankle mobility.
I always had issues with the weight moving onto my toes when squatting, so I decided to buy shoes with a stable hard sole. I wanted something without a heel, because I can do perfect atg bodyweight squats without any strain, so I was considering adidas total, but in the end bought the powerlift, with a small heel, because it was cheaper.
for the first time I had no issues with the weight balancing forward and regret not buying something with a full heel.
