This is fitness related because self actualization and mortality are essential parts of mental life and fitness (technically).

There is no such thing as a 'glorious death'. It's literally just a propaganda term invented by warmongers so that young men will throw themselves into war at no benefit to themselves.

I'm not religious in any capacity. If I was, I wouldn't care about dying because I would believe in an afterlife.

All of those religions glorify honorable deaths, though. Death in the name of a sacred value is just about the greatest honor a human being can aspire to according to Christians. You literally get to cut in line and sit next to God.

I'm not talking about war. There's no way I would have wanted to fight in any recent US wars. I'm talking about something like what Cato Minor did.

There isn't any. There isn't a sacred value that you can die for in the west because most values won't get you killed here and the ones that would make you a pariah aren't moral enough to "gloriously" die for.

The idea of a glorious death is lame anyway. If you have values you wish to share then share them live them out and their fruits will be evident to those who witness you.

Closest modern day example is Mishima or Venner or those buddhists that self-immolate
