The only way is to get yourself out of the house and moving on your feet. That's how the young do it. Reduces the amount of time you eat

Jesus Christ stop feeling sorry for yourself and get to work. Literally all you need to do to lose weight is to eat less in the day, you'll know if you're in an adequate calorie deficit because when you're you go to bed you'll feel hungry. Fight through the hunger and go to sleep and boom congratulations, you are on the way to losing weight. Repeat this every day for 6 months to a year or however long it takes. If you haven't lost an absolute minimum of 5 pounds after a month of doing this, reduce your calories further and repeat. It is hard to stay disciplined at times but just always remember- nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Girl, I'm going to level with you. Unless you have a diagnosis of actual hypothyroidism from a doctor, it's likely your habits. Try walking like another anon said - take your phone with you and listen to a podcast. As long as you're moving, you're exercising. Start doing as much as you possibly can in one day. When you're distracted by something you like listening to, it won't even feel like work. Before you know it, you'll be walking 4-5 miles a day as a hobby.

Also, pick 3 things you like eating that are reasonably healthy. Mine are chicken, eggs, and rice. Make them however you like to make them. This will be your 'cut' diet. Now, think of a normal portion size for you. I want you to cut that by 2/3.

Small portions of healthy, nutrient-dense foods and lots of walking will lose you about 50 pounds in under 6 months.

depression and food is comforting and addicting like any drug. it gives your brain the same rewarding chemicals. plus, everything is packed full of calories, even things of small portion sizes. snacks are no longer snacks, they have enough calories to be meet your daily intake in a few bites. it is a huge problem

My parents fed me like shit growing up so I was a fat kid, they also actively discouraged me from cooking once I fot older and told me to get takeout because they didnt want a mess in the kitchen for any amount of time, like if I took 10 minutes to eat my meal before cleaning the dishes they'd yell at me and ask why I didn't get fast food.

Thered nearly constantly be a costco cheesecake in my fridge and they let me eat ice cream every day, it took several years of me living away from them to break my bad habits and learn to keep myself healthy.

I eat out once a week and only manage my weekly calories which is a huge help cause you can pig out when your struggling. In the past I never took a diet break and 10 days eating enough not to regain much was a game changer. The week after my diet break I dropped loads. I was 116.5kg then post diet break I was 117.7. A week later I hit 115kg

My weight went down from 120kg (maybe even higher) to 80kg (ok 83kg atm). The closer I get to a healthy BMI the harder it gets. I gain weight by binge drinking once a week despite eating clean the rest of the time.

So I usually sit at 220-230 when I train hard, and 250-260 when I take it easy. The only part I liked was friendzoning women. A non-diet dietitian really helped me come to grips with my relationship with food and myself. She helped me structure my day to day eating to avoid binge triggers but still being able to enjoy food. I did gain weight through this process but lost it again and have kept it off. I still deal with binge/purge mentality and do slip up but progress is not linear and I'm better at accepting it and forgiving myself which breaks the Shame cycle.

Heal yourself and your relationship with food and the Weightloss will come when you feel like you deserve health and happiness.

Not sure what I weighed at my peak but If I had to estimate it was at least 245 @ 6’1 with basically zero muscle mass.
Down to 221 now. Things I’ve noticed (other than strength, obviously) are as follows
    >Less severe sleep apnea
My wife isn’t waking me up 5x a night to stop snoring. It’s been a problem my whole life (surgically removed tonsils to help) but got really bad at my heaviest. Now I don’t sleep like shit and I feel a bit better in the mornings
    >wiener is bigger and harder
    Sex is all around better
    >my wife started working out with me and she’s lost a few pounds as well

I got a long way to go and I still look DYEL but reflecting back on where I came from helps a lot

Usually I hover around 130 however I feel completely fine at my current weight. Eventually I’d like to cut back down to 130 though right now I plan on bulking til I hit 150.

225 lbs , 6ft, and seeing a picture of myself at the beach after being a new father and eating like shit with no interest in fitness. I dropped it down to 180 lbs and was running 5k+ every other day. From there worked on weightlifting, currently at 210 lbs. Nothing great but looking back, I just didn’t want to be fat anymore.

110kg at 189cm, was powersharting it it up big time
then the kung flu hit and I just self-isolated like crazy and started running in the woods to cope with the loneliness
went down to 75kg, while also growing my hair to 60cm length and doing purely bodyweight stuff (which I got extremely good at)
I have never looked that cute in my entire life, and thats not a good thing
Back to 82kg now, gonna do the slowest bulk ever until I'm at 90kg with as little bodyfat as I can as a natty
nothing to say about mental health really, since I wasnt disgustingly obese, just fat and strong, and then VERY thin while still absurdly athletic
    I'm keeping the hair btw

was a brilliant prodigy physically-not-confident bullied kid. Then I liked sports(Allah sent me a friend who would knock on my door to play them every day). I trained and dieted for a month and a half and lost 5lbs. And I went from 0 push-ups to 6 pushups in our gym class assessment that we had to perform in front of everybody. Was super proud of myself. Then my family travelled for a few months back to the mother land and while I was there got sick and lost 40lbs in the span of 2.5 weeks and went from obese to ribs and collar bones. Wrote a will because I thought I was going to die, but didn’t need it in the end. After I recovered I was just muscle and bone so I could suddenly do 15 push-ups aNND I could even do 3 chin-ups. I regained about 10 lbs of weight and was sitting pretty at 108lbs 5’2. With this newfound strength and excitement I trained till I could do 10 chin-ups and 50 pushups in one go. 90% bullying vanished, everyone was so proud of me. I got asked for sex in grade 8 by a one of the girls in my class and I was like “thanks for the offer”. Losing the weight really changed my life and I don’t think I’d be working in the medical field today if it hadn’t happened.
Now I’m 5’8, 173lbs and in good shape.

Went steadily from 180 to 225. Covid helped, along with moving from home and only eating kraft dinner.
I "obese" then proceeded to consistently lose to 190.

About 105kg at 187cm when Covid hit and the gyms closed down. Without gym access, there was no reason for me to remain a fatass, so I dropped down to about 80kg at the lowest by the end of Covid. Now Im about 85kg. I was never obese, and Im not exactly thin now, but losing weight felt fricking great. Easier moving, less sweating as well as money and time spent on food. Love it and Im probably never going to exceed ~90kg again. 10/10 would reccomend for all you fat fricks freaks.

Went from 105kg (230lbs) at 183cm (6") to 85kg (187lbs) in a year, during which I also put on a significant amount of muscle. I'm currently at roughly 18-22% bf and aim to get down to about 10%, but the benefits of the weight I've lost so far are very obvious already. More energy, less depressed, walking up the stairs for a few minutes no longer makes me feel out of breath, world looks more colourful (not making this up, probably due to feeling less depressed), and a whole lot of other small and big improvements. Life is good.

I want to ultimately maintain around 59 but these last few pounds have been a b***h. It’s on me, I know. I feel pretty much the same mentally even though I know it’s objectively nicer not being that fat. I’m still not where I want to be and if it isn’t my weight stressing me out it’s something else. ay 5'10 my heaviest was about 400 pounds. this was maybe 1-2 years ago.

things have been up and down, i've gotten close to 400 in a completely separate 'episode'. down to about 350 now. i can tell that when I really get down to 200 I will wonder how the hell I ever tolerated life at 400 pounds.

already my sex drive is significantly higher. and i'm only a quarter of the way there.
going from out-of-shape to better-shape taught me that a large part of how you feel psychologically, and even what your political beliefs are, are derived straight from your hormones, and NOT the actual logical part of your brain.

i have noticed i favor capitalism more and more in general as I get in better shape, which is kind of fascinating in itself. my current theory is that people that are out of shape are subconsciously aware that they would get destroyed in competition, and thus they want a tribal culture that minimizes competition - abstracted out onto a national scale, this means socialism where the Big Brother government takes care of everything and gives everyone equal resources.
this might make sense from an evo psych perspective, if an even slice of the pie is bigger than the crumbs you would get if you suck a competing. this might be why the west of moving towards socialism, there are more and more people that have their hormones and their bodies fricked up from modern life.

    but i digress.

Finally starting to lose that shit, currently at 101kg and constantly losing more. I'm 180cm tall (That's 5'11" in tard units) by the way.

      My question

You've had to be in a calorie deficit for an extremely extended period of time to lose the weight and maintain it?

      How did you do it?

As in, what was your mindset?

What kept you back from the urges to binge after being in a prolonged deficit?

Did you follow a certain diet or did you just count calories

5’9”, got up to 250 lbs in high school, my lifts were kinda outrageous but I was still a fat frick. I’m down to about 180 now, I’d like to hit 160 and settle down around there.

240 lbs at my heaviest. 138 lbs now. 135 lbs lowest. 5'7". Still suffer from chronic depression. Not eating for a day or two gives me something I actually look forward to. Eating.

Most I ever weighed was 250 lb before my cut. I'm down to 235 now.

96kg 5'9, looked in the mirror while entering a bathtub with my ex and never felt so disgusted at my sight, that relationship ended the next week (unrelated) and I started exercising after being told I was pre-diabetic during a check up.

Dropped 14kg in 4 months and managed to reach 77kg but not an ounce of muscle (did mostly cardio/dieting)

Nowadays I weight 82 kg but I do some lifting so building muscle little by little and trying to reduce carb intake overall. Pasta is my weakness though.

Impact was 50/50, I felt like the crash diet I did initially aged me faster (or maybe was just feeling down about my ex or both) so my hair started thinning and I have a crown bald spot nowadays. But I'm in a much better place now, feels good man.

6'4" 240lbs about 2 weeks ago. Trying to diet for the first time in my life at 41. Will see what all the fuss is about. Only eating one meal a day. For dinner I eat very little and go to bed hungry. It's no fun but so far it's not so bad. Down 5lbs from when I started. Hope to get down to 200lbs in 6 months.

Over 2 years I've managed to trim down and convert a good bit of fat to muscle and I run steady at 190 or so. Still have room to improve ofc

Capped out at least 220 at 5’9” before I stopped looking at the scale. I began consistently working out for a year starting early 2022 and I am now 160 about 14%bf. Weighing the lowest in at least 10 years really hit me with joy since all my clothes are very loose and I don’t feel embarrassed about my gut, which in comparison to others wasn’t the worst. I can’t fathom how people cope with such big double chins and balloon guts. I notice more people looking at me (I catch their gaze then they look away) and I honestly don’t like it. I also changed my look to have a short beard and slightly longer hair and it would look much worse were I still a fat frick.

went from 130kg in september 2022 to 107kg today
Im losing more. Breathing is increasingly better, lifting heavy stuff doesn't even brake me into a sweat anymore. Energy is tremendous, spent three hours the other day hauling logs and still went and built a chicken coop in the afternoon. Sex drive is insane, I cant even look at a busty woman on the street without my dick going hard and wanting to take her right there.
Clothes are all fitting, I had to punch 10 holes into my leather belt, and Ill probably have to punch more because it's getting loose again.

To anyone that talks about fat acceptance, have a nice day. I will rape you with your own fat rolls.
