Good for beginners but you and I will have to move on eventually and get a real gym. There are too many old sacks and teens taking up every piece of equipment during the summer at good hours.
Pros: Cheap place to get a sweat in.
Cons: The massage machines get old after a week or two because they do the same thing.
I picked up some resistance bands and that's really all I need.

god i wish that would help my bulk so much >It's not a real gym
yes, but it does what i need it to for now, premium is half the price of any other gym around and i can go to anyone in the country.
also despite not outgrowing the 75lb dumbells yet i mog everyone there with them
Gyms aren't places to workout since anyone can workout without a gym, including lift. Gyms are all also interchangable in terms of ability to workout.
What gyms really are, solely, are public places to show off and mire.
Just read the responses in this thread. >Only people I've known that go there are foreign students and mostly fat women >too many old sacks and teens >all subhumans
Choosing a gym is wholly about image, not fitness.
Your brain is telling your that Planet Fitness will meet your fitness needs, but your reptilian brain is telling you that Planet Fitness isn't popular with your cool IST friends and you instinctively want to hang out where they do.
honestly its good for beginners. most beginning lifters don't have a program built for themselves, so they just do some curls, MAYBE get into the rack, do some rowing, and then finish with cardio.
but you can't progress here. maybe lose some weight if you resist their dumbass "weekend" meals they give out, but its not optimal to build strength at planet fitness
I just joined because I'm tired of being a fatboy and want to focus on cardio for 6 months before switching to a gym with more weights to start building muscle
That's fine, right?
That's fine but you can still build muscle at the same time.
I'm doing it now.
I dropped my PF membership because I couldn't be assed to go there.
I got a cheap set of resistance bands for like $30 and that got me a good start. It's really convinient and I bang out a workout in like 15-20 minutes, doing legs and arms and back and everything. I do it every other day, and then take two days off on the weekend.
I'm getting stronger, feeling better, and I have a set at work.
Losing weight at the same time, though it's slowed down significantly because I keep shoveling meat and cheese into my mouth for protein.
I don't fret though. I'm getting stronger. Feeling good.

cool man, thanks. Yeah I need to start focusing on protein more and cutting sugary junk but it's a little expensive. But that looks nice, something I can bang out in under half an hour in the morning before and after gym would be great. Should I get the thinner one (0.3in-1.3in) since l'm a beginner or does it not matter that much?
The black thru blue set will be fine. You can just combine bands to finetune resistance.
Maybe pick up a pair of gloves.
Become a regular of the sales part for your grocery store. Pork is your budget friend. Fatty meats are good for you. Energy + protein.
Intermittent fasting.
Eat lunch and supper on workout days.
Just eat lunch on rest days.
Saves time and money.
Don't worry about counting calories until the weight loss stops. Just get protein and yank tha rubber.
Also I get 10k-15k steps in a day, but I don't work a desk job so I get paid to get my steps in and thus don't use time outside of work to get them. I'll get in an extra 5k to round off 20k if I'm feeling cheeky.
One day I went all out and got 35k steps, which is something like 12 miles of just walking. Ran out of daylight before running out of energy.
I also do low-carb, so all of that on just fat for energy.
And then if you really want to save money on protein but be okay with throwing away bones:
Leg Quarters go for 56 cents per pound here. If you're really poorgayging it, leg quarters are your friend.

Oh hell yeah $1.50/lb for boneless/skinless breasts, $2.50/lb for ground meat...
$2/lb boneless pork chops...
Might grab ribs at that price too.
I already got like 12 lbs of ground meat and 4 lbs of chicken in my freezer...
But at these prices I'm just gonna have to stock the frick up.

I would steer clear of high fat ground meat, despite what that anon said about fat being fine... it's fine in moderation. You have to keep in mind what grains these animals were likely fed (esp pork), so their fat is going to store whatever oils they picked up from the feed, aka a shit ton of omega-6. If you really wanted healthy animal fats you would have to get the expensive actual grass fed, farm raised shit. If eating cheap meats, stay lean (most of the time). Lean factory meat + butter much healthier than goyslop stuffed fatty factory meat.
Beautiful picture, chicken breast is 11 dollars per kilo here in sweden, cheapest is 60 kg per kilo if you buy 20 kg at the same time, cheese is cheaper, you can get 15 kg for 4 dollars per kg at a grocer here, I hate this gay ass c**try
Was good for me when working in a new city for a year. Want lifting seriously, so didn't need anything more than what they provided.
Would get to the gym at 4am. Only people working out at that time were people who are serious and focused. All equipment was open.
I would do a basic dumbell ppl 6 day split and then run for about an hour.
Was nice that they had showers.
Then I would go into work at 7am.
It's good for the price. But the weight guides on the benches are really annoying. Get what you pay for though and for being so cheap it's a really good gym, everything is usually kept very clean, there's adequate equipment there for any workout you want to do
Although, like others have said, it's good as basically "baby's first gym". It's good for a while. But then if you want to progress further you need to move on
Honest opinion, Planet Fitness should be where women are legally required to workout at, unless the prove they need larger weights.
My local planet fitness has dumbells up to 70 pounds, nonadjustable barbells up to 100 pounds. No squat racks, bench press or free weight barbells.
10 dollars a month though for someone casually interested in lifting there though with no contract still seems like a good deal.
You can get swole at planet fitness
I’m the smallest guy in the gym and I question at least half of the dudes (not the ones on treadmill) natty status.
Only roidgays in this comment section. move beyond planet fitness because it’s “not enough”
it has basically everything you need except for squat racks, but you can work around that limitation
for $10 it's a good value and a lot of the guys in my local pf were insanely jacked
one drawback is i canceled my membership over the phone after i upgraded to a better gym but the israelites kept charging me for another 4 months before i noticed and went in person to cancel again
It's got the bare minimum in my opinion but my local one is awful compared to other gyms. No pool, no sauna, no delightful gymbro giving me encouragement when I sign in.
I just signed up yesterday and went on the treadmill and rowing machine for 1.25hrs, what can I use there for building muscle? Im fine with cardio for now, but would want to build muscle eventually. I know people call machines a meme here but its gotta be better than nothing, right?
Use the dumbells and the machines available, it varies by PF but pretty much all of them have a smith machine, leg extensions, leg curls, machine presses of various sorts, assisted pull ups/dip machines and cables for all your fly shit. Dumbbells aswell so you can do DB bench up to a weight most people will never reach (80 lbs iircs) All that matters for muscle growth is increasing the weight over time, you can do this with machines or free weights, just increase weight on the bar/machine
Thanks anon. Im figuring out a routine that will work for me and will gauge when I might want to move on to a better gym when I feel like Ive made enough progress at PF.
>pros
Good way for fatties to into weight training and exercise in an obnoxiously tolerant environment. Cheap. >cons
Bad for literally anyone else. Full of coloreds.
It's not good but I guess if the majority of your workouts are cardio with limited weights then it's not bad I guess. Honestly, it should just be a gym for women. With that being said, would women still dress like prostitutes to an all female gym?
PF is okay. But that's it; okay. Dedicated gyms have more equipment and generally more helpful gym-goers if you're doing anything slightly wrong. Planet Fitness is what many consider a good start, but you'll need to upgrade eventually.
It’s not not not a plahn
Only people I've known that go there are foreign students and mostly fat women who get the urge to"get in shape again" every 3 months.
Good for beginners but you and I will have to move on eventually and get a real gym. There are too many old sacks and teens taking up every piece of equipment during the summer at good hours.
pros: cheap
cons: all the sinks in the bathroom have been broken for 3 months straight so all the equipment in the gym is coated in literal shit
Pros: Cheap place to get a sweat in.
Cons: The massage machines get old after a week or two because they do the same thing.
I picked up some resistance bands and that's really all I need.
Filters out all subhumans, so that you are surrounded by real lifters in real gyms.
Met a multi-millionaire kentucky derby winning horse owner in a PF today
Did he sell you a bridge?
I live in Kentucky. The Maclaren in the parking lot was his. I knew who he was too.
