This is exactly why 30+ virgins should just commit suicide. All advice boils down to "why are you homeless? Just buy a house". Ignoring that just going outside or just joining a club won't make you friends, and ignoring social proof means that loneliness by its very nature perpetuates loneliness indefinitely. This is the advice hypocrites give in order to not feel guilty about ignoring the suffering of others.
It's a problem with no solution. Nobody has ever broken out of social isolation. The examples we hear of people doing that are always girls whose idea of social isolation is "I only had my bestie and my boyfriend", not "I've been invisible for the past decade".

Because the ones telling wizards to kill themselves are immoral, but at least they're honest. I prefer an honest enemy over a backstabbing traitor. Hence I'd rather be told to kill myself than receive garbage advice, only to then be blamed when I point out I already tried it and it doesn't work.
