I would focus on cultivating a daily walking habit over the next few weeks first and foremost. if you're actually NEETed up, you could aim for 90 minutes per day, or even an hour each morning and night to get your body used to increased movement. Depending on your height, 240 lbs could mean anything from extremely obese if you are short, or just fairly overweight if you're a taller guy with a broad body. If you get your diet under control, cutting out junk food and alcohol, and commit to walking every day, you can probably drop maybe 10 pounds by the new year.
As your body gets acclimated to moving around more, you can start incorporating basic calisthenics movements like push ups and bodyweight squats. You can also start running at some point -- again, idk how overweight and out of shape you are, so it may or may not be feasible to start doing that before you lose a bunch of weight. Walking at a fairly brisk pace is underrated cardio, tho, and especially if you are completely sedentary right now, it will induce some major changes to your body if you stick with it for the next couple of months.
also, if you want to increase your walking cardio gains, wear a backpack with a bunch of books in it. I've heard of people having a lot of success with rucking over semi-long distances. A hiking backpack would be ideal if you know anyone with one, but a normal backpack with some textbooks or dictionaries in it should work just fine.
I tried running at 240 and blew my knees basically instantly. If OP has weak legs and heelstrikes it is highly inadvisable. Lose weight and learn to run on midfoot before attempting to add distance.
I got away with running at 260 - but at that weight I was more or less just jogging or fast-shuffling.
Gotta be careful and keep the runs short, but yeah, some people are gonna hurt themselves. Even guys who are heavy in muscle tend to avoid pure running.

Don't make weightloss sound hard. I went 240->180 in 2022 over ~5 months. You can easily lose 2-3lbs every week while you're fat by simply counting calories.
I was just trying to convey to him that he could make a noticeable (mostly to him, but still) change in the last month of the year, which would hopefully motivate him to continue losing weight
At your size, just starting out, walking is genuinely the best idea. Build up to it, but you could work up to walking 90-120 minutes per day at a brisk pace if you're a NEET.
Walkmaxxing will improve your health a lot, but don't expect it (or any exercise) to make a real difference to your weight without dietary changes.
You cannot go wrong with walking. You have to walk before you can run (if you’re a fat neet who has spent the last year+ laying around all day)
Walk 20 minutes every other day. Next week do 20 minutes 5 days. The following week do 25. Add 5 minutes until you’re at an hour 5 days a week. Then do an hour every day, but add a second 20 minute walk at night. Build that up to an hour in the same fashion. That’s all it takes. That combined with maintenance calories or preferably a small deficit and you’ll be under 200lbs in less than 6 months.
3 sets of 5 reps of sending a job application
5 sets of 10 reps of not jerking off
3 sets of 10 reps of not wasting your time
but seriously, just do jumping jacks if you dont want to go outside, thats what i do
fasting, just not eat for a certain amount of time and you will lose weight, or just have a decent diet man, count calories, walking should also work as all anons said
Just walk ir run in circles you fricking fatass.
Fork putdowns AMRAP

Couch to 5k would work - just don't do too much jogging until you're light enough that it won't frick up your knees
Or you can just walk and try to walk more each day until you're thin enough to jog.
I'd advise against this unless you use a properly loaded frame backpack. I know too many people that fricked their shit up.
Here, have some motivation.

10lb by the new year is 2lb/week thoughever.
Yeah but he shouldn't stop there. And he can lose up to 3lb/week if not more.

If you're a neet and overweight, get an entry level job that requires you to walk. Become a security guard, post man, etc. Two birds with one stone.
Start with no longer being fat. When you hit <200lbs you can start rooning, slowly. Right now you'll just frick up your knees.
t. Been there done that
No one who makes these threads actually want to change. It's always just some weirdo loser who is just desperate for attention.
harsh truth, but OP will most likely dismiss post like yours and keep attention posting
holy fuking shit just go outside and jog around.
start off just walking if thats all you can do
take the /walkpill/ OP, that much should be obvious
What’s your height?
