When you walk, it's no longer a resting heart rate. Obviously. Dipshit.

yes I'm pretty much the same. Mid-60s then when i get up it goes up to 80s or 90s. Although at that point it isn't RHR anymore...

Mine is 63bpm. I could do with losing 100lbs though.

depends on age. 70+ is concerning. 60s is ok. 50s is good. 40s is fantastic. 30s is freaky. <30 and you are probably either an elephant, doping, or soon to die.

If you are fat, yes. Otherwise, no.

I've stayed high 50s to low 60s for ages. I think if I was working (manual labour, burn like 4000 calories on a work day) or doing sprints again I could probably get it down consistently into the 50s.

My resting is 45-49 and when I sleep I go down to as low as 40-42. If I stop moving or sit for a period of time I get really sleepy. Kinda afraid I might die in my sleep one night.

Resting as in sitting or inactive. Regularly around 50-60

    Just checked, 69.
Imo low heart rate is bad for you, since you're closer to dead than living.
It's a product of cardio, which (aside from something like sprints) chronically increases your cortisol.

Lifting produces cortisol too. It is by definition not chronic, but acute stress. Acute stress is good, chronic stress is bad. Acute stress means a spike in cortisol and adrenaline first thing in the morning, when you work out, and any other time you need to be alert. Perfectly normal and good stress. Chronic stress means you have too many spikes and they bleed together and/or take place when they shouldn't, like in the evening when you should be sleeping soon.

I personally think acute stress from exercise is good. It teaches your body that being stressed isn't a reason to panic, that it needs to stay on task despite the stress, and that sometimes the stress comes for a good reason. Stressful pursuits shouldn't be avoided just because they're uncomfortable.

Except for you. You should probably avoid all stress, in fact quit your stressful job and get on social security because you're clearly too retarded to withstand the stresses of normal life.

depends on your age. you can pull up the heart rate chart on google
lower the better. it along with your vo2 max are apparently the best indicators of health.

My resting rate is usually in the low 50s. I've been watching it a lot this past week and I've been getting high 40s.

    >RHR in the 80 +-10 range
    >run 15 miles a week or so for the past year
    >do high intensity cardio events ie shuttle runs with weight, hill sprints etc
    >it just never changed
I kinda think it's a meme to be honest

As a general rule higher is better, 80+ is probably what one should consider to be healthy. Having a low heart-rate is a consequence of hypothyroidism, in principle it is a stress response. You can lower heartrate with excercice (stress) but once you recover from the chronic stress the hr will rebound. Lower heartrate means lower metabolism, higher bf, slow brain function, general bodily degeneration, etcetcetc. Don't fall for the low=good propaganda, that idea was invented by people who want you to drop dead the minute you retire and stop paying taxes.
    >T. Used to have 52hr, after improved diet and reduced stress it is now 78-80.
